Went to NTU for a late evening shoot. Caught quite a variety of insects there. Lasted until about 8.30pm. Wow, I didn't know I did night macro shoot there as well. Luckily brought a torch light with me. Use simple setup - pop-up flash and a diffuser. Thanks for viewing. My next post will show you what I caught in the dark.

Thanks! Bryan. Did crop but original subjects are big. Perhaps due to a little sharpening.

Good lighting, exposure control. Nice catch #1 #2 #3.
#1 is an interesting ant or beetle?

Thanks! Lance. Perhaps belongs to ant family. Anyone knows its ID?

Nice shots. How did you do it? How do you know where to look for the insects. What preparatory work did you do? Thanks. Just want to learn from you.

Nice shots! :) Good control of the lighting ;)

For pop up flash, the lighting is amazing!

For a start, definitely you need a macro len. Join some experience groups for outdoor shoot. See what they equip and learn from them. Try pop-up flash and get a circular white diffuser and attach to the far end of the lens. You can try neighbourhood garden first. A good place is SBG. You will definitely know where to find insects.
