= ) its up... c&c welcome...

noobie comment again.. not pro here but just wanna share my thoughts..

1. framing is nice but perhaps the bright spot on the right is not good.. its best if it gone or hide it directing behind the poles.. it will also create a nice flare at the same time which is not so distracting, but the sun also creates a nice balance of the photo.

2.i know you never purposely go put the dustbin there(unless you really did that? lol), it creates a nice balance for your heading. But the people there i feel its unnecessary(unless again you ask them to stand there de. lol), perhaps 1 group of people but not many.

3. But overall its a nice photo with a few flaws though, but framing is nice, its call "frame within frame" for your info.

All the above comments is my personnel noob opinion, no hard feelings k. Shoot more delete more then knowledge will more but mistakes will lesser.. haha

Thanks ted, valuable critics!
= )

anybody else to help critic this?
would like to know the fault of this picture and learn more from it

Simply too many elements here, what is the main object? The Girls? The view at the skyline opposite? The glare from the sun? Which roll does the trash bin play? Exposure ok, but some composition is needed.

I thought this is fairly well taken and the light is good. There are too many human subjects though, if the group of ladies to the left and the man to the right weren't there, it'll bring out a whole different feel. The rubbish bin is distracting too.

i like the idea of the sun light come into pictures. it draw my attention TOTALLY. then i see the unclle u mention. haha he is really distract. overall nice

hmms too many elements, focusing on one object would be good. Glare from the sun caught my attention

lol.. damnit. uncle and dustbin.. spoild the picture..

the actual subject is probably the skylines in the evening sun and the people looking at it..
should have waited for the uncle to walk away..

lol.. damnit. uncle and dustbin.. spoild the picture..

Yeah, becareful...you either move them away, or you move yourself away! Sometimes, I do move things like dustbins away temporarily when it is necessary. People will give me the stares (hey this is Singapore), and I don't care 'cos I put things back after my shots.

Every picture tells a story...what's yours in this picture? Is it a weak or strong message? Actually, if you constantly ask yourself this question, you will make better photographs.

Cheers to your effort.

 i like the concept B&W

I like BW too..
but at times its more challenging to take pictures with colour..
alot mroe things to consider.

I think naming the photographs especially in C&C will be a good idea.

I do feel that in fact, B&W photos is not as easy as you think. its not about just converting to b&w. For a strong & power B&W , you will also need to adjust the reds, greens, and blues. Even if needed, burning & dodging must be used too.

Its what i feel also la.. maybe i noob ba. so processing B&W photos to me is very difficult..

The Girls?

:bsmilie:

I would zoom in for a 'tighter composition'. ;):bsmilie:

Cropping might also work, tho must see gt enuf pixels first:D

Just kiddin:bsmilie:

I thought the people in this photo are interesting. But they are not framed to be the subjects and there were many distracting elements.

in any photo, viewer's attention will be drawn to element/s in the foreground that is also in focus. in this case the dustbin, man in white on the right as well as the structure.

the background is to small to be of any significant. also, the fact that it lacks contrast is looks flat.

sometime can try pp the background into siloute (dont know how to spell) that saturate the sky for color, but not for this photo as the shapes will also be not interesting / easily recog. and the sky is flat too.

maybe try shooting another day, morning shot?
