you will see the subject in focus in the viewfinder as well as a green hexagon dot at the bottom of the viewfinder and a beep sound.

It should be, K-x does not have visible AF points. When focus locked, there is a green hexagon icon on the bottom of the viewfinder.

There's a lot of misinformation and FUD going around about the K-x AF points.

1. The K-x DOES have AF points. 11 of them, in fact
2. You CAN see the AF points in the view finder, there are markings in the VF that show you where the 11 AF points are
3. You CAN select AF point in AF-select mode, you have to do it via the LCD screen
4. You CAN see when your subject is in focus. The green hexagon appears in the VF and you will hear the familiar beep sound.

What you can't do is see in the VF which AF point is active.

1. In auto-AF mode, with AF point indicators you can see which AF point is auto-selected, but you can't see that with the K-x. Most people using auto-AF mode probably don't care though
2. In AF-select mode, you always select using the LCD. What I miss about the AF point indicator is that sometimes I use AF-select mode and forget to switch back to center-AF mode and then I get my focusing wrong. With my K10D the problem is obvious because the indicator will show the AF point off-center. With my K-x a couple of times I end up wondering why my focusing so screwed up then realized I forgot to switch back

but its a feature that I can live without at the moment. Just do some memory work...

I only used the central AF point to focus, like how I used to do on my Canon S2IS prosumer. So no need to remember which point is active. But when focusing on dark stuffs, may be a bit difficult coz the AF point is not lit up. Otherwise most of the time no issue at all.

I got used to it already. Most of the time uses the centre point.

Sorry Diopter. There is a lever on the VF for you to move try it.

1/100 still ok to handhold. Try 1/15 or lower . . .

Hi felix, i cant see any green dot or hear any beep sound

Are you looking thru the viewfinder (VF)?

Should have sound as mine has. Check your settings

Green hexagon dot only appears if your subject is in focus and followed by beep sound. The bottom row of your VF will have all the green coloured display

if after half-press shutter, also can't focus, maybe it's what you're pointing at.

try putting your focus point on somewhere that is not plain color. (ps. dunno how to explain better, anyone understands what i trying to say, please help paraphase.)

I suspect u set ur body to MF. Thats why. Or probably the focusing point is somewhere else.
