Sigh, how could a powerful force attack a convoy bringing aid to people already placed under 3 years of blockade? If only the Arab countries would work together.

And the Americans being afraid of slighting the small nation, acted pretty coolly to the whole situation.

What are your feelings on this?

The US is an Israeli puppet. Period

Normally.... I'll tends to support any country facing terrorism. But honestly.... this time Israel over did it. Its one thing to close your broaders another thing to attack a ship carrying aids on international waters.... :thumbsd:

But sadly.... like North Korean being supported by China.... Israel will likely be let off the hook due to support by USA.

No wonder bullies are always around. ;(

Israel should have taken action in her own waters.

However, the flotilla aren't saints too. Do some background research into the key figures organising this.. and the fact that they refuse legitimate aid channels that are open, also smell fishy..

The ME situation is very complex, and often we who are outside that area..fail to understand the entire picture and are informed through a 2nd or even 3rd hand mediated lens.

I watched the news on you tube by aljazeera people, tehy showed of the Flotilla waving out White flag but the Israelis still firing to the sky. Heard people got killed for nothing. hmmm

If you can avoid it, try not to make too many enemies. Don't open up too many war fronts to fight. It is unwise.

Year of the metal tiger is one of many political conflicts and financial instability. Go search online and this is the general prediction.

Isnt the UN supposed to supervise such things?

Wouldnt hurt to send an escort frigate or two to look after the convoy at least under the pretext of protecting the convoy from the danger of pirates.

There are two sides to this story. Do a search on the internet and find out who owns the boat in question and see if they have links to terrorist organisations.

Secondly, find out out of those who were killed, how many had been wanting a "martyr's" death.

Next, try and understand why the blockade (not just by Israel but Egypt also) is in place.

Lastly, try and figure out why those people want to break the blockade using the boat when there are other legitimate means to bring the aid across.

All the above is freely available on the internet.

 the media is all out there. take your time and understand the complexity of the issue too.

As mentioned, there are multiple sides to the issue at stake. If it had been purely a aid convoy, would they need to do so on the sly and not thru proper means?

And the israeli commandos who raided the ships were not armed to kill in the first place, they were given only pistols and paint ball guns for goodness sake. And they were brutally attacked before they had to retaliate to protect themselves.

QFT. That was the on thing that puzzled me...for all their professionalism and experience...surely you wouldn't fast rope into a mob wielding sticks and chairs...

And this whole issue of Israel and the middle east is one big mess. Everybody thinks they have the right to wack Israel and Israel thinks that the whole world should support them for what happened during WWII.

But I will tell you one thing, only the Israelis have the balls to pull of ops like that. Screw world opinion, you try to run my blockade, I'll stop with with whatever means necessary.

Save the trouble of boarding... I'd rather mine the waters... you try to enter lor... :bsmilie:

Yup it is a very complex issue. Look in detail on both sides of the stories from different perspectives. It is so very easy to just take one side and condemn the other.

Try also to understand why the people behave like 'terrorists', if people are cornered with little (good) land, people become desperate.........

Israel always blames the other side for being a terror, but people don't become terrorist overnight. There is a cause........

The Hamas must recognize Israel as a state, whether they like it or not, Israel is already a fact, but Israel should also give back land that doesn't belong to them (just because you won a war doesn't make that land automatically yours)......recently Israel agreed to give back the Golan Heights to Syria......so it is possible

I remember a genetic research done and the result were that the Israelis and Palestinians were genetically so close, but the paper was not published because the paper was afraid the Israelis would object to the results! Genetics don't lie, only the mind believes what it wants to believe.........

They still live according to teeth for a teeth........revenge and hate will never cease if people have this mindset

It is sad that people can't live together, we are all the same people, but some feel more superior than others

I think we are too far away from the region to understand so don't try to interpret or even bother to try to understand. There will never be peace in that region. Israel claimed they did vacate Gaza but re-occupied it after Hamas repeatedly fired rockets into Israel. Each side is claiming to be the victim. Just like this Freedom Flotilla incident. one side claim they acted in self defence/provocation, the other cried murder. There is no right or wrong. Just whose side you are on. There is no end to it like Taiwan's 霹雳火. For those who knows, there are many Palestine refugees in neighbouring countries who adopted local nationality. And all of muslim world do not recognize Israel as a state and not just Hamas. Ask Malaysia. Israel went to war with all its neighbours - Syria/Lebanon/Egypt/Turkey before. If they have not taken a no nonsense stance, they would have been "wiped off" long ago. Whether the flotilla is really delivering aid, it does not matter. It has served its purpose - diverting world's attention on Isreal's blockade on Gaza, casting a bad light on Israel and triggering an opportunity to start an offensive. Let's hope it does not escalate into something sinister.
