I'm wondering, i've seen quite a few post for model shooting, and also listed welcome pro shooters and newbie who wants to try to take some indoor model shots with studio lights provided. Just wondering if i were to go to one, what am i supposed to bring along for a newbie?

Your D90, 18-105mm, battery, sd card and cash to pay for the shoot.

studio shoot? an IR flash trigger or you can just use built in flash (set to manual flash mode and lowest power output just bare enough) to trigger the studio flash.

you also must have basic photography knowledge, no auto exposure or auto WB.

if one shoot raw, using auto wb is ok right?

In studio shoots, you'll normally already know the WB to set it to. That's the benefit of controlled lighting. :)

I believe they want payment in advance, maybe unless you're repeat customer.

if indoor, usually the organizer provides the strobes and triggers
of course you need to bring money to pay the shoot and your camera
and also some inspiration(also look/research for some poses for the models so you can also direct them to pose for you);p

Do we tell them how to pose, or they pose and we shoot? that's one of the questions i had in mind.

i haven't attended any, don't plan to attend any, but i think you can request for poses.

of course, use your brains, telling the xmm to "lie down and open up your legs wide wide" and then running forward with a macro lens is not advisable.. although i heard some people have done it before, to the disgust of the other shooters. :bsmilie:

They must have lost their mind for doing that. hahahahaha.
because i'm thinking of attending one just for the experience of it.

SEE ONLY, NO TOUCH. Lol.

yeah, i also have wanted to attend one since........................... 2008.

i think of the $ i have to pay, even the dirt cheap ones, $25, might as well use it to pay cab fare twice for sunrise.

so since 2008, up to now, i have tried none. i think sunrises are way more exciting. of course that might be just me. ;)
