Not sure if this is the right place with the right audience...

But am seriously stumped and stuck now
Our company hired a professional photographer about ~4 months ago for a shoot involving some happy clients
Friend of a friend
The photos turned out pretty nice, the goods were delivered as discussed - in a CD with the invoice for the agreed sum

Company policy requires payment to be made via GIRO with a registered business, i.e. he has to fill up a form and register
This is where it gets weird ... he's avoiding all calls asking about his business registration number and for him to do this so he can receive the money
Doesn't pick up or hangs up

So finance did a quick check on ACRA website and it shows that the license has lapsed for quite some time now
But that's no reason to go into hiding...
Our finance people and my buyer friends have tried contacting him but to no avail - need him to amend the invoice. Says busy, at event now can't talk or does the 'no reply or hang up' routine again.
Oddly, he's still very much active, can see FB posts and that he's gotten a pretty decent gig at YOG

It's a 4 figure sum ... why in the world would he not want to get paid?
We can't give up - services rendered must be paid, naturally - but right now that's just proving impossible and frustrating

dun pay lor.

or maybe he avoiding tax hah

Pay him cash?Out of ur company petty cash account?;p

Well, you know freelancers. He probably have a unbalanced book and the IRAS is looking for him. :bsmilie:

It would help him alot if you paid him cold hard cash instead. ;)

If this is a problem with your Finance people. Ask them to call him up and tell him to come over to collect cash. Then when he comes to the office, tell him petty cash is running low and ask what alternative payment can he accept face to face.

The invoice was submitted with a XXXX Photography Pte Ltd and must be changed
And as long as he changes it, finance can easily issue a personal cheque and no longer invoke the GIRO rule
But no show, don't want to entertain any of us???
You guys are very creative though! lol

for a moment I thought....... :bsmilie:

anyway, register a business under self employed, he has to clear his medisave contribution before he can renew his licence, so probably his is already in debt and bank account frozen..... :dunno:
