sharpness in photos

Thankz guys for d quick replies.. Wat im trying to achieve is actually having a picture that is as natural as possible w/o having to PP on CS.. With sharp colors n contrast..H/ever i haf nt reach dat standard or nt even somewhere near it.. Sadly..

sorry, don't understand, can you point out the parts in photos you posted that are not "sharp"?

How to take sharp pictures:

1. Hold camera well

2. Use tripod if necessary

3. Use faster shutter speed

4. Use small aperture to get better DOF

5. Use camera/lens with image stabilisation

6. Select the right focusing mode

7. Try and use the lens "sweet spot"

8. Make sure your lenses are clean

Agreed. But, I feel, a good lens still play an important part in the sharpness of a photos.

even the masters of old manipulated their film to get the effects they wanted. dont sweat about it, digital camera more or less means digital workflow nowadays. eg. Not often do you see a working photog who does not use any noise filtering software with the digital pictures.

by the way, i do believe there will be a outing to marina barrage to catch the sunset..its a good opportunity if you join since can get to ask questions and see the answers yourself.

Reportage, I strongly suggest you take down that pic unless it was taken by you (which I think is not because I saw that pic in another thread), or if you have obtained permission from the owner of that pic to post it.

What you can do is to link to the post with that picture.

The underscore prefix to your images reminds me of standardized notation of DSLR when saving an image file is captured in Adobe RGB (or aRGB) colour space. Are you processing your photographs in Adobe RGB colour space and posting pictures created Adobe colour space?

Bro Im dun quite understand ur qns.. But i did put adobe RGB in one of the setting on my dslr n ill normally use CS4 to "boost" my picture up..

What you can do is to link to the post with that picture.

Actually, if you are complaining about sharpness, your pics are already sharp. If you want it sharper, you can boost the sharpness in-camera.

I think you really mean contrast. You can also boost that in-camera if you so wishes. If you want very controlled adjustments, I am not sure how you do it in Canon, but in Nikon cameras you can load custom curves into the camera.

yeah, sure you can take a vibrant picture when the weather is bad. :thumbsup:

maybe with external lighting you can. other than that, don't see how.

took immediately after he snap it n the color n contrast is superb n he did nt use any flash at dat moment..

ask you,

the day your wedding outdoor photoshoot, was the weather good?

the day you shot those shots, was the weather good?

you can't squeeze contrast out of flat lighting... period. even what daredevil has done looks unnatural for me. i'd rather wait for a good day and reshoot.

So it is about contrast la. Not sharpness.

As for your flash question... It is not necessary. Nothing is necessary in this world. But you can use flash if what you want to achieve requires one.
