The consideration of the body is nothing if you don't know how to use it. Some may produce excellent pictures with a 350D, but even with the most sophisticated equipment, one still may not fully utilize its potential.

I'd say, if the thousand odd is a trivial amount to you then by all means.

But if it isn't, I think pictures from other photographers is a fairly poor method of realizing its capabilities. As many things are, YMMV. ;)

Hi,

Just join the forum and bought a Canon EOS 550D Kit II.

Was about to say "hi" at the "Official Canon 550D User Thread" and found that the thread was closed.

So decided to use the thread title to continue with part II to help new user like myself.

So HI!!!

Welcome to the 550D club!

lolx, how come the last thread was locked??

last thread was closed may be due to someone post picture and asked for C&C...

If that's the reason, sincere apologies to all for posting pics. I posted pics in the thread so as to get views from 550D members instead of posting at C&C corners where others reply. Would prefer users of the same model giving me C&C as they probably understand the capabilities of the camera better. :embrass:

glenn, glad u found it here ya. i think no worries about yr postings ya... im sure the rest wont mind too. good start for the rest of the others who just gotten their cameras too. =p

dont be so hard on you :) i said it's maybe.. but still 550D is a great DSLR :)

Does anyone knows whether, our camera is able to take multi-exposure pictures?

I think what you were refering to is Auto-Bracketing? 3 shots of under, standard and over exposed pictures. Yeap 550D is able to do that.

Btw, I'm new here too. Just got my 550D 2 weeks ago. Bought the body and a separate 18-200mm lens for travelling use. Nice to see so many 550D users. =)

For me, I think the assessment of the photos should not be based on which camera was used to take it. Best to keep C&C topics in the C&C forum IMO.

Hi Everyone,

I'm a newbie in photography, a new user of EOS 550D Kit II, a new member for this club. So, three times "newly" thing. This club is really helped me a lot to get information on the photography things. And I'm proud to be one of the 550D members. :)

Is Autobracketing able to take the 3 shots combine into one picture? Cause i couldn't find the function. My friend's nikon D90 could do it though.

Thanks :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think 550D can combine the 3 shots into one. Besides the only purpose I see for doing that is to create a HDR image? I'd personally prefer to do the post-processing/merging in PC using Photomatix because I don't think cameras are built to do that. =)

I'm not even sure if the D90 can do that...but why so when most of us do HDR on the computer anyway :)

Do a search on HDR software:bsmilie:

yes possible. The Auto Bracketing function.

Alright, noted.

Can't combine and do it on camera itself but by using HDR programs like Photomatix will assist you in doing so.

Hi everyone,

Just got my 550D few days ago, love it very much:thumbsup:

No, 550D doesn't have this function. Multi-exposure is different from Auto Bracketing. It takes 2 exposure on 1 image, while auto bracketing takes 3 images at 3 exposures (correct, under and over exposure). For example, this function is useful when you want to take a photo of building and moon in the evening.:D

This chap's got it.

TBH I don't see the reason for the confusion. Its almost akin to saying that aperture's the black plastic strips behind the mirror.

LOL ~ I realised the confusion now.

thewickedgirl : might want to check out flash techniques...think currently only the 580EX series for canon able to have Stroboscopic flash // Multi Mode allowing you to have that multi exposure look.

In 550D body function wise...no cannot :)

Seconded!

No idea why the previous one was locked :dunno:

lolx, how come the last thread was locked??

Oh, usually when a thread with post hits 1000 and above (50 pages), mods will lock it and create a new one to continue... the previous thread already more then 70 or 80 pages? :)
