I have some old Sigma/Tamron (Minolta-mount) lenses as well as Kyocera/Yashica lenses (35-70mm f/?? and 70-210mm f/4.5). Does anyone know if these can be mounted on Canon/Nikon body via adapter (and roughly how much would the adapter cost if it's available)? One alternative for the Minolta-mount would be to just buy a Sony Alpha second-hand, right? I assume for these options, I'll only have manual focus? including the Sony Alpha?

Why would you only have MF with these lenses? If they are for the Minolta A-mount, they have AF.

As for the adapter, ebay is your friend.

Minolta mount - no adapter, need to custom made Jim in USA
Contax/Yashica - Paul in Sin

You can find adapter from ebay..china made though. I bought a quite a few just to play with the old lenses. For MD mount to canon, u can get with AF confirm...that mean you MF and get a beep sound when subject is in focus. Price varies from S$10+ to S$50+ for AF confirm.
Did that answer your question...
