Nikon D300 or d90 ?

Hi i am new here need some advise from the pro
i am new to camera . i getting myself a camera but don't know which want to choose .
D300 second hand or D90 what are the pro and con for the both camera ?
Please do some research. These cameras are extensively reviewed online, compared side by side, etc etc. Do not expect to be spoonfed, show some initiative. Even here on CS there have been more than enough "D300 or D90" threads, and that's why there is a "search" function.
Google helps too, I suggest you learn how to use it.

For entry level,should get Nikon D3000 or D5000.Otherwise,try other brands like Canon,Sony,Pentax or Olympus...

D90 is more for wedding photographers and D300 is more for the sports oriented photographer.

Don't be surprise, I have seen first time dslr users started with a 5DMII & D700. To them $$$ is not an issue, so the bigger the better.

please show to everyone that you have at least put in some effort to find out the differences between the 2 cameras, and then put some thought into whether those differences might mean anything to you. Please don't expect to write 3 lines and be spoonfed with an answer.
There will be people voting either way, so what are you going to do then?

Although i cant help noticing that most prefer to pay by cheque. I would have thought for such a large sum, credit card would be better because of the points earned.
its simply from my observation of Nikon users for such events which is why i wrote down "my opinion" beforehand.
Actually for weddings, this is what I see from Nikon wedding photographers. Most that use primes and shoot with ambient light uses D700. I see a lot others using D300 and D200 as second cams. I also see some using D90 as 2nd cams. I have probably only see one wedding photographer shooting a D90 as the main (only) cam, and several shooting D80s.

That's nothing. Wait till you see the kids bringing out their 1D series, and D3x/D3s.
The D80 is still a pretty good general workhorse camera. if the TS dont need the video function, a good condition 2nd hand D80 is recommended since can spend the leftover money on lens.
its just the TS still havent say the camera use for what.
I dont think so on this....carry 2.3kg laptop already complain and complain much less a 1D series and other pro bodies fitted with fast lens.
I don't see a problem with a beginner getting any camera of any budget. What is big $$$ to you and me may be peanuts to someone else.
TS, either camera you listed are very good, no wrong choice either way. D300 has full compatibility to the older Nikon lenses AFAIK (metering and AF) if yo have legacy lenses.

I have really seen kids with 1D series and D3x and D3s.
what i mean is that these kids will want the best and newest but as they use, i find that they dont always bring out the cameras because too heavy. Often they will persuade their parents that they will need a second body which is smaller and lighter which is the one they will use most of the time.:sweat:
that is just pure speculation...
equating laptop to digital cameras is laughable...
In case you haven't been keeping up to date with marketing trends on both product lines, the smaller laptops are marketed as 'trendy', and thus desirable.
Large, 'professional' cameras are marketed as serious photographers' tools, and thus desirable in that regard to aspiring photographers or 'wannabes'. If someone had the financial resources and wanted to "look pro", he/she would certainly be eyeing a large camera.

Bro, i seen one with D3s.. (18 yr old telling me : "My father got it for me for my bdae, but i think i dunoe how to use leh...")
