Hi guys im confuse about getting a D90 or 550D? cos i read the review about this cam and the result came out to be super confusing cos both are good. i need u guys who really hands on and compare this cam before to help me out here thx.

and i want to know about the preformance, image quilty, video, and of cos the benefits on them. thx guys...

Both are good..but review is juz a guide...go down to Best Denki/ Harvey Norman and try out the cam to see which feels better...take a look at photos taken using each model be it at CS/flickr etc...read up the D90/550D section and see what people say about their cams...:D

if both are equally good -> then compare the prices -> if still can't decide -> toss a coin...
*you will still end up with a good cam...:bsmilie:

both are super darn good for their class.
Only u can make the decision, hands-on experience with both cam will be great, 2moro juz go to any cam store and try them.

My opinion is, I find the top LCD on D90 is useful and conserve batt life as u dun have to turn on the main screen to see the settings.

haha thx man cos my fren is using 550D the image is nice i like it as for D90 i dun have fren using it so i can't really test it and best denki and harvy then dun display D90 to have a test one it so its really confusing

If you seriously want to shoot video, get the 550D. The D90 cannot make it.

It's unlikely that you will find a person that has extensively handled both cameras. As you found out already: both cameras are good. But still there are differences in features - up to you to decide which one you need. Back to handling: go to showrooms or department stores and do your own hands-on tests. You will handle the cam later, doesn't matter what others think about handling, right?
Ah, and performance data should be the very basics of any decent review. Still not clear? Sure you read a review and not marketing stuffs? The benefit is clear: both are DSLR.

i'm also pondering about this question. i'm wondering, how much would the d90 cost? cause i know that for 550d its around 1.3k.

not so soon... but based on historical trend, should be 2010...
why? New model come out means D90 can't take wonderful pictures?
I've seen fantastic shots from D40, which is like 4 or 5 years old model this year...

where did u get this?

d80 came out 2.5 years then d90 came out.

even if a new model come out...its probably gonna be like d90s or smth...with more megapix fill in...

comparing d90 and 550d is irrelevant.

550d has only 1 dials no does not have top lcd panel. this category of camera belongs to the entry level and should be compared to d5000 instead.

d90 is more comparable with 50D. with 2 dials and top lcd. if you are shooting events, or more serious stuff...2 dials and top lcd is a need (not a want). if its just for leisure... just grab the 550d...or even pentax k-x

I agree, when I first started to look out for which DSLR models to buy, it was between D90 and 50D. 550D is sandwiched between 50D and 500D in Canon's range... (see? 500 + 50 = 550, hence 550D :sweatsm:) No doubt price-wise 550D and D90 is about the same, while the 50D is priced much higher (maybe it being a newer model).

550D's competitor should be D5000.

Yup, should get it lower than 1500 already... :bsmilie::bsmilie:

Different users will claim their brand of dslr is good. Since both are around the same price get 1 that is comfortable in your hands as you'll take better shots with the camera your comfortable with. :)
