It really depends on yourself. A K7 is a semi-pro camera vs the K-x which is an entry level camera. If the body colours please you go for the colour you like but it is only available overseas and at Changi Airport.

The K7 can be bought in SG unless you hunker fir the Silver version which again can only be bought overseas.

BUT my advise is if you have the funds to go for the K7

Don't go to the Dark Side yet! The k-x offers much more at a lower price. I don't think you can find any Canon close to the k-x price. Its small and compact and if you chose white, lots of XMM will notice you when you walk down Orchard Road :bsmilie:
But seriously, as a newbie you don't need the K7. It has many features which are great for more serious photographers but you will not miss as a beginner. The kx already have most of the features you will ever need. In a year or 2 when the K8 is released and price falls, you can consider upgrading to the K7 then. :)

Then the MORE you should get a Pentax.
The Kx offers a lot for $790. Another brand will be hard pressed to meet its performance and price.

Lenses will be cheaper too.
Just look over the price guides and see for yourself.

For a K7 you are really paying for the weather sealing, better build standard, magnesium alloy body, silent shutter and many fast access buttons. Very useful to make the photographic experience better, but not totally necessary as well for the enthusiast.

their service at slr revo is really gd.. i wrote on their fb wall and asked for a quote for k7. i told him tat i will be headin down today. but with only 1.5k on hand..

he quote me 1338 + 419 for twin lens kit. total 1757. its over my budget.. he still showed me k7 and kx. i got hands on and felt it. so kind.. haha.. i was shocked to found out that SD card doesnt come together..:(

i brought my friend along as well.. he asked me to check out canon 550D. so i did.. the price was rite and its within my budget. so the competition between both canon and kx.. this is where i started thinkin for petty long..

i got canon 550D instead.. i still got spare cash to invest on other stuffs.

and pentax no freebies.. aiyo.. canon at least comes with a EOS bag and 8gb card.. tat also another reason i chose canon....

thank you guys once again!!

:dunno: sure?

i got my white kx and some other stuff with the following break down:

Pentax K-x + 18mm-55mm kit lens - $782
EMOLUX UV filter - $6
Screen Protector - $5
ThinkTank Pro Speed Belt™ V2.0 - $49
Sandisk Ultra 16GB - $68
Sanyo Eneloop Quick Charger + 8AA - $35 + $17
Lowepro Topload Zoom AW 50 - $35
Cleaning kit - $6
Dry Box - $25
Wrist Strap - $14
Total: $1042

I've gotten the flexibility of how I want to carry my camera around and extra batteries for a much lower price than a CanNikon :)
