Anyone hit or dropped their camera/lens before?

dropped my 50d + 18-200mm from a tripod which i was carrying ard 1.8m onto a pebble floor at botanic garden and still working perfectly just some dots like marks at the side of the body.

I'd dropped my 24-70/f2.8 from a height of 30 cm onto the kerb and it rolled into the drain during Singapore F1 2 years back. Only scratches on the lens, everything else ok - Thank goodness !
I once went on a shoot with my friend who threw a 50mm/f1.8 tome. I was standing on a ladder and saw the lens bounced off someone's head and landed on the road with soft shattering sound. We looked at each other and burst out laughing !!!

Anyone dropped their speedlite before?

I dropped my Sony a230 with the my tamron 18-200 face down >< the filter got shattered and the filter ring is stuck into the lens. Lens is a bit problematic (just not normal I feel) but in hospital now. Even though the camera is working normally. I'm not sure why, but there's this black thing on the corner of my photos even though I used other lenses.

So I'm going to the body to the hospital as well :/

Anyone has similar problems about the black object? Or maybe has any idea how it happened?

its probable that your sensor got damaged at the same time, after all its a piece of precision equipment that wasnt designed for hard knocks. hope it was repaired well!

i dropped my 28-85mm minolta (lens only) with f/b caps on recently. you could imagine my heart shatter with the same 'clink clink clink' sound of the stainless steel hitting the ceramic tiles on my floor. but....

not only was there ZERO damage cosmetically, there was also no performance problems! aperture blades were snappy, focus ring was tight as its supposed to be, and instead it became sharper. -____- i dont suggest you try it on your 25 year old minolta lenses though!

Dropped a EF 20mm f/2.8 from the car seat down to a rock filled ground. Everything ok except the focus ring was knocked out of alignment (could not turn smoothly). Had to repair the lens at nearly half the cost I purchased it for @#!%$&%#*&#%#@$!@.

lent a friend my 40D + 50mm f1.8 before but he dropped it... body was fine but lens ended up:-

haha broke in half :l but was lucky that it was my spare set up haha

My camera is back in action now! :D

Thank god the camera is still under warranty, so service was FOC. My tamron lens cost me 80 bucks, a bit pain but I was expecting more so yeah :p

Not sure if it's me or what but I feel that the sensor is sliiiiiightly out of alignment :p But IQ wise is fine though

lots of bumps and bangs with my powershot G10 over the past 2 years. used it for shooting while biking/trailing :D

but have been very careful with my dslr equipment to date :D

following this thread is a real heartache.
