7k when you first got your camera? There are some utilities online which can check on the shutter count, although at 150k it will be a while before you will use the camera up well. :p

Search for Opanda Software on the net and download ng free software to view Exif Files (it will show your shutter count). And i believe, we cannot reset the shutter count of the cam.

Sorry, don't get it? If you got it new, why would the shutter count be more than zero?:dunno:

Pardon me if i misinterpret your comments.

Btw. you can download this to find out the exact shutter count. Pls look under "Total numbe r of shutter releases for this camera".

Thanks bro, enjoying the new features of d300s, but i still comparing with my previous d90 images. i feel like the d300s have more blacks and higher contrast on jpeg. can we compare our output photo one time? :D

The shutter life of D300S is 300,000 shutter counts as compared to D90 which only has 150,000. This info is provided by Nikon. FYI.

teojcb, just would like to correct the information that you post, D300s shutter count is 150,000 NOT 300,000, please refer to this site if you dont believe me http://www.nikon-asia.com/d300s/en/reliability/#n1

And this is the actual quote from Nikon D300s microsite:
"To achieve reliable real-world durability, Nikon tested the shutter unit through 150,000 cycles on a fully assembled D300S camera, in demanding test environment. It’s a trial that ensures a long service life and, above all, the certainty that the shutter will always click, together with the confidence that inspires."

And for D90, it has approx 100,000 cycles shutter life:
"Durable, high precision shutter: Testing to over 100,000 cycles assures shutter life and accuracy." quoted from Nikon D90 Microsite: http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Digital-SLR/25446/D90.html

This is to avoid confusion to other d300s users. Thanks.

Woah! Where did you get that from? AFAIK, it's 150,000. Available at the Nikon D300S Microsite.

Any experience on the performance of d300s using rechargeable AA Batteries on MB-D10? Im planning to buy eneloop instead of en-el4a.;)

O... thks man... Al least i know how long it can least. Hope it can stay with me for at least two year. before it hit 150k. ; )

May i ask why the rechargeable batteries? More FPS? or More shots? Interms of weight, which is heavier?

Cheers:)

as i read the d300s manual, when rechargeable battery is used in mb-d10 connected to d300s, it will reach up to 7.5fps continuous shooting @CH mode.

I am not sure about the weight, waiting for some user comments regarding this feature.:)

Yeah I wasn't talking about the thing that you are referring too ^^;

However I do read in the Magic Lantern guide book for the D300s that each cameras are 'broken in', with the shutter unit being cycled 500 times. It's on page 16 of the very same book.

Sorry, don't own that book. Can you elaborate on the definition of 'broken in" and "cycled" 500 times?:dunno: Txs.

Cheers:)

It was written as "Shutter units being broken in on the camera production line at Nikon (Thailand); each shutter unit is cycled 500 times."

My guess that each of our cameras are tested for the shutters. I think this is rather normal?
