Well, I'm sure quite a few guys here got more than 2 dSLR cameras. Some Pentaxians like to sell the old ones when they upgrade (and I'm one of them), some just keep the old ones as backup, which end up they never or seldom use. Kinda waste isn't it?

I got a cheapy old *ist Ds2 camera second for dirty cheap price, had my friend converted it to IR dedicated camera so I can use it for some super cool IR photos. Got the camera back a couple of weeks ago, only got time to test it out a few days ago. Spent 1.5 hours in Chinese Garden taking these IR photos:

Yes, most digital cameras can be converted to IR camera, as long as they have manual white balance setting feature, or can shoot RAW :)

As a matter of fact, I have a Ricoh GX8 which was converted to IR camera by the same friend. Since I got this converted Ds2, I'm selling the converted GX8 at b&s forum now ;)

Heihei, why not join the IR gang ;)

Usually it'd cost around $250sgd to convert. But for us CS Pentax users, it'd much less ;) Just let me know if you are interested.

Here in SG we have the best weather for IR when it's not raining: blue sky w/ white clouds. Get one of these, you'd have a lot fun again w/ your old dSLR cameras :)

Great pics

Post a link in the IR forum mate. Let the rest of the IR community know of your works.

Cheers.

Thanks. I'll do that later :)

The minimum requirement is to be able to do manual white balance I think. I don't know too much about the others, but I think that's about it.

My first attempt with my converted *istD during Oct 2009 outing to Johor.

Repost here for sharing. (not as sharp...)
