Stains on my lens

There were some water stains on my lens but when I tried rubbing it away with my specs cloth, there were even more stains. (on my 50mm) Pls help

Get yourself a lenspen, have a few rounds over the stains then clean it off with lint free paper.

Blow and brush just to be safe, then breath gently on the lens, preferably not after a meal of orluak or laksa!

Very quickly, before the vapor evaporates, wipe with a section of clean mf cloth in one direction. Repeat as necessary, each time with a new clean section of mf cloth.

one solution is to buy eclipse lens cleaner.

ditto on the lens pen. but u can try with a slightly moisturised microfibre cloth first, dun go too hard on the surface

Wash your specs cloth. After using it for your specs there is sweat and other stuffs in - things that give you the oily stains on your lens. Use a clean cloth, always.

I think he means the part which goes into the camera, not the outer facing element.
