hi bros.. nub here would like to ask here in regards for this 2 filter
how good is marumi's? i was waiting for hoya 52mm but the stock seems to be out islandwide *except those normal retail shops* and i was recommended marumi, with the diff of only 1 buck more which i dont mind but no idea about the quality
did a search over here but couldnt find alot of details so would like to ask advise, thanks =)

I would say marumi, Tokina and Hoya (normal) are average filters. They shouldn't cost really much. Do refer to the price guide section, especially on Hoya normal coated series pricing. Check if the Marumi if it is multi-coated (on the box). It it is multicoated, it is technically more superior than Hoya single coated.

U might want to visit hoya filter website for their different gradings of filters. Hoya filters are made by Tokina.

Brands that I rated below average are Sunblitz, Emolux, Vitacon, SteinZeiser etc, mostly rebranded made in china filters.

I`m using Marumi multicoated UV....and it works well plus the price is reasonable.

Have used Tokina, Hoya and even B&W....price for price, they seem to perform similar.

Performance on filter includes the acutally UV absorption, glare&flare it might introduce and the difficulty in cleaning the filter. :)
