Hi all. I've been shooting for around a year now and i just wanted to share some stuff with you all.

1. in what area is critique to be sought?
composition and colour, i guess

2. what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
took this during CNY this year. just wanted to show the feel of the festive season. in this case, its the pouring of tea as an offering to the deities

3. under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
late morning to early afternoon. no harsh lights though, cos its in the shade.

4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
u like the way the tea is streaming out into the cup.

Overall I think the composition looks ok, but the colour seems pretty flat. You might want to up your contrast to bring out the 'feel' you are trying to protray :think:

I'm no expert but just thought I'd share my 2 cents worth.

Hahas its alright. Yup, this one looks closer to my original. Haiz i think its time to calibrate my two monitors..

Hi, you might also want to check the colour space that your photo was saved in. If I'm not mistaken, photos saved in sRGB work best on the interweb.

the top left (background) is a bit distracting, and it might work better if you reorientated the tea pot and your camera so that you have a cleaner background.

yup, its in sRGB. I've never used CYMK before. :sweat:

Is it the green bit? Its some plants that happened to be in the way. The moment was kinda spontaneous and i was trying to get the stream before the tiny cup got filled, so didnt think too much about the bg. But i'll try to take everything into consideration quickly without screwing up anything next time.

Composition-wise, I hope to see the hand. This photo makes me think that the teapot is floating.

nice take..the close-to-blown patch can be easily brought down selectively, which should help to subdue it and minimize distraction...
