Fungus on lens filter

So I went to TK Foto to take a look at tripods and at the same time let them look at my filter which have white round patches with a dot in the middle of the patches. The white patches are small and all over my filter only.

The staff said it's fungus...luckily my lens is still clean.

How do I get rid of the fungus completely? Do I just place it in the dry box and "bake" it with extremely low humidity for a few hours/days?

Which filter are you referring to? UV?

In digital photography, UV filter is used to protect lens front element. If the UV is unable to protect anymore, it is time to get new one

Yeah only the UV filter is infected. But I'm can't really bear to part my cash for a new filter now... =/

Lens and front element is clean and perfect....at least it looks like it. No specks at all.

I would throw the filter away. Usually after fungus infection, even if you manage to get it off, the multicoating will probably be compromised.

And I would check if the dry cab has any issues.

Just use isopropyl alcohol and clean it several times, each time with a new section of microfiber cloth. Then let it sun in very hot, direct sunlight for at least 15 minutes on the side which had the fungus. If you want to throw away, throw to me can? LOL!
