2. Getting someone into a fight

3. Killing someone on the pretext of self-defence

All these can happen at the the height of anger
after losing all your hard earn or even leisure money.

The consequence from future casualty is unthinkable
and there isn't any way to stop such crimes from people
who feel they want to match their "luck" at the new casino!

What are your ideas and suggestions?

There is a way to find out the financial status of whoever
is entering the Casino especially the locals.

Perhaps once they lose more than 5k or 10K they have
to leave and get back their $100 entrance fee.

But if they are financially free with more than 5 to 10
million, they can stay till they lost more than a million
dollar.

Standard "social risk assessment", the government is willing to accept "collateral damages" for the greater economic benefits.

Since serial gamblers are going to lose their money one way or another (gambling ships, genting, online etc. etc.) might as well entice them to give their cash away locally.

Overtime they will be given as bonus handouts to high level civil servants and government officials who probably burned their hands in the stock market not too long ago or even in the future. :bsmilie:

I don't think the rich are likely to step into the casino as much as the poorer people... they have better avenues to multiply their money (if they step in, they won't mind losing anyway) :sweat:

For the poorer people like most of us here... I think it'll be better if:
- We lose money, and they refund us the $100 on leaving.
- We won more than $100, and they'll keep the $100.
- We won anything between $0 to $100, they'll refund a portion of it.

there is a reason why the casino business is so happy, it is because got loads of people lose money, then want to "recover loss". in true blue irrational gambler's logic, the first place to recover loss is where they lost it. :bsmilie:

I think it's better not to be in a situation of trying to recover losses by not having a venue to facilitate your loss at the first place.

I think the consideration should be:

1. What are the immediate and long term benefits to all stakeholders in having casinos in Singapore;

2. What are the stake holders' cost in attaining these benefits;

3. Does going ahead with casinos contravene the culture and values of the stakeholders;

4. What if the cost becomes disproportiately larger than the benefits the decision makes.
