as mentioned above..many of us do hundreds of shootings everyday/everyweekends, but just steal a few minutes time of your life and think. are we using what we want or the high tech talk are tempting us to get what is "in" now?

neither - camera and i work together symbiotically. rather than just shoot...shoot...shoot... and then see if anything is good (or as some people do shoot, chimp, shoot, chimp...) , i compose in my head and then think about things such as straight horizons, framing, and so on. the camera can let me control the exposure, or set it for me. the characteristics of the camera (lens, format, medium, and quality) provide character to the image captured. for this reason, my shooting approach is very similar across all types of cameras (dslr, rangefinder, toy camera, medium format, etc.)

long, long ago ... always controlloed by cam cos i use an idiot shoot and point camera

then i bot my first dslr; the nikon d50 but still cannot control the dslr

finally, some online guru introduced me to this "cult" software - camera control pro -

and now i control my d50 like no monkey business :bsmilie:
