Objective - Meet and share exercise among beginners to photography as well as share shooting tips. This is more of an overview exercise and introduction into photography techniques.

Tools - Tripod, Monopod, Step ladder if available, Bring camera manual.

Photography Genre - Performance

we are going to catch the Fuzhou Dance Theatre at Vivocity. The show at 4pm and 7pm to be exact as today will be the last day they are performing. It will be to share tips and techniques used when taking such performances. We will compare pictures taken during the 4pm show and see if by 7pm can use the techniques learnt to come out even more better photos. We will be covering basically the Tv mode almost exclusively for this exercise.

Due to the venue, there is no limit to number of participants. We will meet up at Burger King Vivocity around 3.15pm there. PM me for my contact.

Objective. get the basics to be confident to go for pics like these.

sorry for my ignorance and poor knowledge... but why use Shutter priority mode?

Because its easy to "catch' them while they are staying still...another thing to "catch" them while they are moving. Tv mode is a pretty useful feature for beginners to use without going into details. Besides, it makes things kinda interesting on this outing using only shutter priority and experimenting on which settings can get what kind of image.

If got time today, can join us for the outing. Pictures may say a thousand words but seeing how the picture was taken should be worth a bit more right?

any digital camera will be fine...even camera phone. Good gear is one thing but i do believe a skilled operator is more valuable.

Gear imho simply limits the type of shots you can take but once can recognize what kind of shots can be taken with the camera, just need to wait for the moment.
