Thanks to the long opening hours of SLR revolution, I've brought forward my purchase for one day! :D

Very fortunately, I'd managed to get the battery grip from Cathay just before it close for the day. A slight delay during the purchase to draw cash from the ATM. Hmm, didn't quite anticipate that but not a big issue. But didn't quite like the 'canon' plastic carrier - hey, I am not buying a canon and I hate being a s*cker as a free walking advertisement... :thumbsd:

Ok, let's get to the feel of the camera. It is slightly less dense than what I had expected and it's some half size smaller than the k10d but this size different feels very significant during handling. ok, I couldn't feel the cold from the magnesium alloy (did someone crack a joke on this on me? :dunno:). The k7 feels very very refined, like a fair lady in comparison to the k10d which has a more rugged feel, like some knight fighting a dragon. One thing very commendable is the grip and ergo of the k7 especially in comparison to the k10d and I thought the k10d has pretty superb ergonomics and grip. Ha. I think I had also made the right choice in getting the battery grip, even before getting the body, as the camera itself feels too small for me. The battery grip improves the overall handling very significantly.

Can only comment on the physical aspects till now. Still charging the battery... Oh yeah, still need to get screen protector, tripod base plate and magnifying lope. i.e. to say, there's quite a bit of additional cost apart from the $1338.

let me be the first to congrats you on your new toy
mind sharing with us how much you paid for it? with or without any tradein? you get your grip separately?

Oh yes, the less protruding flash housing no longer blocks the tripod mount knob of a F*300! Kudos to Pentax. Just in case some people may wonder why the k7 has this funny shaped flash housing unlike the traidtional curvy design shared by k10/20d and kx.

Thanks terence! <: Got it for $1338 to be exact from SLR revolution (Funan). No trade-in required. I think they have got pretty much the best pricing in S'pore. The battery grip is a pretty hard find and its quite my lucky day to get it. Most shops don't have stock for it. Cathay quoted me a pretty high price initially but I got to buy it at $320 finally. (pretty much the street price).

Well done, scorpioh! I must say congrats :p

...the next step would be to come for the next Pentax gathering! Many pple are eager to meet you.

Woohoo! I think you're going to love the improvement in IQ that you'll get from the Ltds (at least I think K-7 > K10D) ... ;)

grats :D

Congrats......getting it earlier means you can be snapping photos at 1 am in the morning instead of having to wait till tomorrow. ;)

WooHoo, I love the look of the pancake lens on your K-7 w/ battery grip.

Sleek!

Congrats bro scorpioh! Like what you said, the K7 is a camera which should be in the hands of all good Pentaxians! I hope to own it 1 day too!

Wah finally, you're now a K-7 owner. Congrats.
Interesting that you bought the battery grip before the camera.
If you had joined in the last outing you might have picked up an interesting little tidbit about the battery grip ;)

Congrats! The pancake lens does match the K7 camera very well.

I haven't got my battery grip yet, that's after I had the camera for over 6 months. I might just get one too ...
