Heard more than one friend whose throats got pretty sore, with lumps at the back of the throat, and they had been smoking Malboro Ice Blast cigarettes.

I was wondering if anyone else had experienced something like this?

ask them to get the $50 anti-biotic. 6 pills per box.

You can't deny that all of us has been a bloody idiot before in
one way or another. :bsmilie:

Yes, forward.
When one has lived long enough, one would have had more than ample opportunities to partake in activities (so many more, other than tobacco indulgence), either willingly or otherwise, that would get one labelled as a (ex-)bloody idiot.
:)

Mattlock, if I may offer a little bit of insight into this problem.
Individuals who smoke have a higher risk of developing gastric acid reflux.
Coupled with other factors (life style, stress, food etc. etc..), this acid reflux often give rise to the feeling of a 'lump' in the throat.
This is called a Globus. http://www.merck.com/mmpe/sec02/ch007/ch007e.html

She may really like to have this checked out by her Doctor. It can be treated.
Hope this little information helps.

That makes you an ex-bloody idiot. :)

It sure doed ollie... what it makes me is sane, rational (well most of the time anyway) and knowledgable.

After nearly 5 decades on this here garbage heap called Earth I can humbly state that I've got more qualifications in being a bloody idiot than most of you kids. However I've learned from my *****ups and s*rewups, unlike some.

an ex-idiot but an idiot nevertheless. :D

And a cheekly little Jix will get it's head stoved in by a well aimed 800/5.6 Nikkor next time I'm in Singapore :sticktong

i don't smoke but i got too many smoker friends liao :hung:

Can't help it but here it goes.... the spelling for Marlboro is wrong on the title. I remembered many years ago, my tough neighbour taught me how to remember the spelling:

Man
Always
Respect
Ladies
Because
Of
Romance
Only

:heart::heart::heart:

limwhow, thanks. There are small lumps at the back of the throat that are visible just by opening the mouth. I'll pass the info to her.

Guys, can we please try not to OT. It makes it very hard to sort out from the people who actually have something useful to say.
There are alot of threads made specially for OTing.

Passive smoking (second hand smoke) is worse for you than being a smoker according to some researchers.

Having given up a while ago I can say it was the best day of my life when I realised I no longer was addicted to the damned things. It's a drug addiction folks, and if you smoke then your're no more than a junkie.
