yes. it is 18-105.

initially, i did consider kit lens when i bought D90, however, i got tamron 17-50 VC at the end, as i like constant f-stop, better and sharper photos over longer zoom range, and 17-50 is quite sufficient for walkaround.

i never like 18-200, though it's all in one and you don't need to keep changing lens. but trade off will be "jack of all trade, master of none". however, i do like the kit lens, i did consider it when i bought D90, it cheap and light, range is suffice for me when i started to be beginner. however, i foreseen i will be upgrading lens very soon, so i took tamron which i thought it's a better lens. and yes, i never regret about it.

price wise, 18-105 is the cheapest among them. new 18-200 cost about 1k+, 2nd hand about 800-900 if you check B&S. new tamron 17-50 non-VC 600+, VC 900+.

eh no doubt the kit lens is useful cos it covers a wide range, it'll also be a good starting point cos u will realize soon enuf what lenses would suit ur shooting style and progress from there on to get other lenses

for sure there will be MANY shops where you can get the entire camera+kit lens combo for $1100 or even lower......... if you enjoy the thrill of playing reality games like Upsell Xtreme and/or Counter-Bait-n-Switch with the Bait and Switchers

When you need servicing, you need to pay back the amount you saved Or if its a major defect, its gonna be a headache!

anyway no need consider.. its the same price or maybe a bit more expensive now.. RM4200 latest price.. use to be RM3900 i guess RM weaken against Yen ..

I am still thinking.. GH-1 or D90 .. either way i will get it after this wkend.. i will go KL and play with my fren's D90 (he got a d3s also !!!) and see how it goes

Not sure about it. But I think should be more or less the same, don't think you can expect SGD 100-200 less if you buy from M'sia.

For me, even if the saving is worth of it, but the warranty is local, what if you want to send it for service within warranty period, then you have to go back KL, consider the time and amount spending on transportation, it's really not worth at the end.

btw Time Square in KL hv a nice Nikon showroom... can test lens there.. and the ppl there very nice... worth a visit if u want to test out some expensive lens

I'm planning to get D90 tomorrow from LORDS camera. Price quoted $1610. Kit lens, 8GB, Lowerpro bag and cleaning kit. Just called up and the price is confirmed. However, no discount even getting 3 - 4 sets at one time...not even free gifts..

TK Foto quoted $1650 for the same package but include UV filter (don't expect good brand anyway). But no better price if buying more than one set.
