Need advice urgently

I have a event organizer who pass me a project for product shoot, I charge the event organizer for $480 for the job. But, the project organizer want me to bill his client at S$3000 under my invoice. I find that it's not right to do that.
I would like to listern CSer's advice on this matter.Please advice.

If I charge an agency 5 grand for a job, and with my understanding and approval, the agency sells my services for 10 times the price, it should not matter to me. Except to re-examine my pricing.

If it were mutually agreed upon, I suppose one way is to re-examine your prices. The other is to re-negotiate with the event organizer a new agreement. Such as having them take a cut from whatever they sell. But as far as this deal goes, unless their action is in violation of a contract or agreement, there is little you can do.

It should not matter how much the agency sells your services for, HOWEVER, David is now being asked to issue an invoice to the client (problem A), and for an amount that's more than what he's charging (problem B).

Problem A - David should be billing the agency, not the client directly. Agency should be the one billing the client.

Problem B - David is going to have a problem balancing his books!

Sorry, I missed that part. The invoice issued should thus be under that event-organizer's company name, not yours. If the invoice is under your company, then you dictate the price and you should be the payee. I suppose I may have misunderstood the post altogether.

The event organizer is doing some mumbo jumbo on the numbers on his end. Period.
I suggest you bill the organizer and not the client directly, because you have absolutely NOTHING to do with the client.

Am I right to assume you don't have a written agreement either?

I think you should be honest and do the right thing
The sense of guilt and worrying is not worth it! Do tell your organizer nicely

I do have a contract for my client to sign for every project but this project the event organizer is going to sign on the day of the shoot, and the contract is mainly pinpoint on copyright. I can understand that the event organizer want to earn some commission, but this is too much. Right?

Option A:
You hv to make your stand clear n firm. If not, tell him that u hv to cancel the shoot.

Option B:
Bill the client the full 3k. You collect the full amt fr client payable to u only, and fr there give the agent a 10 or 20% comms.

I encountered this situation before. This is considered Fraud. I rejected and push away the job nicely. I will not get myself into a situation like this and end up having to worry constantly in future. It is definately not worth to earn that miserable $480. Worst is your client is trying to push the risk to you.

Bill your client $3000 and give the events org $480 commission. If this is the way round...then no problem at all...u can still balance ur books and I think u'll be happier too
