If you see someone posting a question in the forum in bad grammar, would you blast him about his command of the language even though you understand what he is trying to explain?

If I understand...NO.

Do both

If he does not care to be understood, and he has the problem, for his interest and benefit, why must I care?
I will just ignore most of the time.

how do we know whether TS care to be understood? maybe TS command of english is only up to that standard?

how do we help when we do not know and blast TS instead.....:bsmilie:

people should try to help each other .... there is no need to blast anyone, just maybe we give some suggestions....
in forums, we can roughly tell a person's command of the language .. some are good writers, some are careful, some are lazy, some are ok but prefer to write bad english, some are like RIz Low, etc... and of course, some are totally hopeless.
we can only try to help and if that person takes offence, we just have to leave him alone :dunno:

by the way it should be:
If you notice a posting in the forum that is grammatically incorrect, will you criticise the poster for his grammar?
:bsmilie:

You're not using capital letters for your sentences, 'E' of 'English' was not in capital letters, should I blast you for that too? :bsmilie:

TS, we are sporean, so its ok to use "snglish"

We all make mistakes whether intentionally or
unintentionally. Accept it and move on.
If you are sincere to help in answering his
questions, do it.

;):)

If i manage to grasp what he's trying to convey, i just leave it and move on.. :)

it depends.

if he posts like this:

hAi~~~** ebErioNe, i aM xIaOmIng aNd i nEEd halP wiF dIs qUeStiOn dE~~~ hEhExxXx

if he posts like this:

hai butties, i go gai gai at ruckyplaza and wan 2 buy lens har

if he posts like this:

hi everbody, i is new here and i want to pick up photography. what advice does you guys have?

for #1, it's plain irritating.

ditto for #2, it sounds like a teletubby speaking, and it should stay in EDMW where it belongs.

for #3, i would not correct him, and i would help him if his question is something substantially hard to find on the internet with google, or he has tried, but he doesn't seem be able to digest what he has read.

Refuse to answer all questions with grammar or spelling errors!

Of course not... I think when it comes to large SG based forums, CS already has one of the best standards for language (expatriate forums aside) so I'm already happy to get away from places like HWZ etc.
