Samsung did made film cameras before entering the digital imaging arena.
However I doubt they are not the only camera maker that seems to make it
in the digital imaging age.

Their film cameras are mostly the point-and-shoot
type.

Innovative, solid focus on their vision, quality conscious, brilliant research
but also have a dogged competitive attitude to be in the fore front.

In short they just like most brilliant leaders
want to be number one in anything they output.
