Hi guys a newbie here, hope u guys could help me out, currently own a d40x been having it for 2 years now. I was thinkin should i upgrade my camera or invest on lens?? I have yet to hone my photography skills anywhere near the point where it would be the camera that holds me back the reason for a change is bekoz a few more fp could be helpful, a bigger d80 or 90 helps with the grip and also better to shoot in low light environment.

I have a D40. Like you, I have yet to develop my photography skills.

So this is what I intend to do. Invest in lenses now instead of body but make sure the lenses I buy can be used in my future upgraded camera body, say, the D90 or better.

Just sharing with you my plan. Hope it helps. :)

how about the Nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.8 DX. worth considering..

i would upgrade the body first.

i would upgrade the body first.

if i were to upgrade body, d300s is my choice, since d90 is expected to be replaced first half of next year.

Thus i would invest in lenses first, then once the replacement comes in, body upgrade.

i would invest in time. i would invest in self help books for enlightenment. you will notice the difference in the output faster then you are able to change your bodies or lens .

anywhere to see reliable Nikon's roadmap?
I thinking of selling D90 to get D300s or higher or newer

N u do know that 300s is slated for replacement about 4 months after D90 rite? iin 2nd half next year rite?

Regards

thanx guys, yah i did invest in time, youtube is my choice for information

Normally will not recommend body but if u r still using D40X then diff story..
'Coz w/ a lot of lens u cannot AF & meter..

In the end ur choice of lens will be limited..

The limit of lenses is not really a big problem for D40x as most new lenses comes with motor unless TS is interested to get used lenses.. I would said invest in good lenses and then perhaps grab a used D90 about $900 in BnS..

i would go for upgrade of body.... you find a lot of difference in the semi-pro bodies (if you are thinking of the D300s) compared to d40x..... :)
