Was having dinner with the family when I overheard a news report from CNA (7pm news) that in the most recent bombing attempt against a US Northwest Airlines plane with over 290 passenager & crews..... a Nigerian man (Abdulmutallab) tried to set off an explosive device that was quoted as - "allegedly sewn into Abdulmutallab's underwear" .....

After Richard Colvin Reid - aka The Shoe Bomber - 2001 attempt to set off a 'Shoe Bomb'.... Airport Security includes asking passenager to remove their sport shoes for X-ray....

When reports of 'Liquid Bombs' surfaced..... Airline no longer allows drinking water of any sort to be onboard planes.... that includes Shampoos and hair gels....

Now we have some guy trying to blow up an Airline with an 'Underwear Bomb'..... What will Airport Security around the World make us do this time ??!!:sweat:

Nothing surprising, even after 911 airport authorities had anticipated such a treat and had began rolling out millimeter wave scanners in the United States even with on-going calls of privacy concerns. We might just see a couple of them at Changi Airport soon.

New security measures will require passengers to remain seated for the entire hour before landing, according to new Transportation Security Administration rules detailed by Air Canada in a statement to its customers.

Travelers could also be subject to a physical search of carry-on bags before boarding the plane. Passengers will also not be allowed to access carry-on baggage or have any personal items on their laps during the last hour of flight.

In addition, passengers will not be allowed to use pillows or blankets up to an hour before the plane touches down, NBC reported.

Well.... as long as no need to remove my undies for spot check.....

But this will be conducted by some female airport security personnels on selected good-looking male travellers. :bsmilie:

Guess, you better hope the inspection room is not cold...

Better take whatever necessary actions needed than be sorry if its too late. Even if privacy is comprised. Safety comes first above everything else when lives are at risk. Dont u agree?

Oops, spelling should be .. "compromised".....

Best way, everyone checks in naked. Luggage goes in another luggage only flight :D
