Dear Pentaxians,

I'm sure that we have all been hit with LBA (Lens buying addiction for newcomers).

Whether you like limiteds, DA*, zooms, cheap m42 primes in ranges from 10-300, or expensive third party lenses. There's always a "I-gotta-have-that-now" urge. One lens is never enough.

Syndromes include frequent use of pentaxforums lensreview, use of ebay searches, and constant visits to B&S. And the dreaded feeling of "Dang!!! Somebody bought and ran away with my dreams lens of the hour... and at such a reasonable price too."

Would like to find out how you deal with LBA? Do you cave in and buy any lenses that strikes your fancies, or endure until the urge fades away? Let's all share, how we can kick LBA for good. Life's too short for crappy lenses anyways.... :bsmilie:

Sorry for the repost, but the way to deal with LBA is to give in to your desires. Absolutely the most effective way! d: o:

Is there a cure mah? I don't know if the cure even exists ...

My next lens will be ... the DFA100WR :)

each time I wanna buy some new lens, I just tell my wife beforehand.

then she will "kindly" (somehow) remind me that to improve my photography technique is much more important than just buying new lens.

this stops my LBAs quite a lot of times. :)

Only cure for me is to give up this hobby and get rid of all the stuffs.:bsmilie:

My next lens will be...

No cure? :S

Then how do you go about choosing which lenses to buy?

Cannot be.... buy ALL of them, right??

Scorpioh, cannot lah... unless i print $$$

Poppyer, that's a very good idea except that i got no wife. hahaahahaa

istDes* - that's too drastic. Cannot leh.

Put it this way, if you know you are suffering from BBB vireee then talk to your financial controller (spouse / parents) before, then you will know if purchase is justified. If cash is not an issue for you then indulge your every whim until you move onto hifi/classic cars e.t.c.

I'm almost cured...

Well, there is always a new lens coming, isn't it? You can't have them all, but you want to have them all, that's the LBA virus :D

I have almost forget about the DFA100WR.
you guys are bad, very bad :D

* Don't buy a new lens unless you are willing to sell an old lens at the same time. That way (a) there will be room in your dry box and (b) you might recoup part of the cost.
* Sell any lens you've not used in the past year.
* Do as I say not as I do.

I heard you can ask government to add your name to some kind of blacklist to be banned, or something like that.

Should have added a fourth
* Ignore fengwei's posts. He's always got too many interesting things for sale. :)

Wow.. I juz learnt that there is this LBA virus. As a new K-X user, i was wondering what hit me.. i was really looking at the B&S on a daily basis and got 2 lenses even b4 i got my K-X to play with.

There's juz this urge as a newbie to "get that lens for experiment". But my pocket really cannot make it already. lol. So that's how i'm curbing the urge for the moment but scared leh that once payday come, spend on lenses.. :embrass:
