Hi everyone .... can anyone give me some idea what should i choose between e450 olympus and 1000d canon DSLR camera for my entry level photography experience.
Canon have IS built into their lenses that needs IS the most.
Why only these 2 brands?
A Pentax Kx offers much more features for ~$100 more.
* On body Shake Reduction
* On body lens drive motor
* 12.4 megapixel APS-C-format CMOS sensor (total pixels: 12.9 million)
* PRIME II imaging engine
* 1/6000th maximum shutter speed
* 720p HD video (24 fps)
* 2.7" LCD monitor (230,000 dots)
* Image sensor cleaning (sensor shake)
* 11 selectable AF points
* IS0 200-6400 range (100-12,800 when expanded)
* 4.7 frames per second continuous shooting (for 17 frames)
Interm of lens selection for Pentax, is it wide range or limited range selection ?
i would go Oly because its a firm that spends less on marketing and more on R&D ...... more bang for your buck in both new and 2nd hand markets ........also its color output is great as well
but if you want the safety of a bandwagon , then go Canon .... or Nikon
Thanks for the advise, infact Olympus pricing is better then Canon and Nikon.

Just an aside.......
Up until 2 months back I had a 5 year old Oly SW-8080 which has image sensor that most of today's top-line compacts still lack ........... was one of the very first cams that had built in video too then.
If you MUST get the 1000D........ get it 2nd hand and decide later once you mature and/or decide on your next step in photography.
Actually Sony, Pentax and Olympus are more value for money and all these brands have lenses that can cover the normal usage range of 24/28-200mm (in FF terms).
Definitely. People just don't see..
For the Oly, the 14-42mm and 40-150mm kit lenses will be enough for most applications. They are one of the sharpest kit lenses around too.
The only lacking one is cheap prime lenses.
Thanks guys i think i know where i am heading to... i will go for Olympus E450. Value for money and i did do some study on E450 the reviews is quite good for an entry level.
