1 clip multiple photos

Hi all, am intending to do a photo montage.

Currently using Macbook Pro Aluminium late 2009.
Went through the whole imovie and am not able to find a way to put two photos side by side during display. Anyone can help? Is this not possible for imovie and a function available only for paid versions?

Sorry if this does not belong here. Do move this thread if necessary.
PS: i guess this sub forum is the closest i can get to imovie.

Mac should be very easy to use

I tried to use the iMovie and tried to do putting to clips beside each other but I failed. I believed that iMovie do not support multi layers in the timeline. I guess the other alternative is to get final cut express which cost S$369. It is a very good software for home editing.

Hmmm...

Not willing to spend 300 ~ 400 bucks on final cut....

PS CS4 + Lightroom2 and Mbp already an astronomical figure.... no money for more softwares therefore trying to use i movie for such a project.

Perhaps others can share what they use for slideshows??

Then you can use your PS CS4 to combine the 2 clips side by side before placing on iMovie.

HAHAHA... tried... did not like what came out... Saw some slideshows where the photos overlapping one another and then appear side by side...:thumbsup:
