My manfrotto 486RC2 ballhead is stuck to my manfrotto 190mf3 tripod legs. When trying to unscrew, the ballhead dislodges into the ball/cover and the silver metallic core/base. the base is still stuck on the tripod legs. i need to salvage the tripod legs. Does anyone know if there is repair services in Singapore for tripod that I can approach?

i can't find it in manfrotto website but emailed them. think they may not have a repair service in sg since tripod failure is not so common

not sure do you notice there are three screws to lock the tripod head to the tripod? you try rise your center column of you tripod, and see below your tripod base, use screw driver to loosen the three screws, you should able to remove the tripod head without much efforts.

hope this help.

thanks, that is already done before posting the thread. i removed the center column from the rest of the legs, take out the upper segment of the center column and unscrewed the three screws. but the centre core of the tripod head is still tightly screwed in and can't be unscrewed.

try to use WD40 spray in between the 2 parts stucked together... after 15 minutes try to use a clamp (clamp the ballhead since i think cannot be re-used already) and pliers (cover with some clothes to minimize scratches) to separate them...

if still cannnot, you gotta buy a new center column... if i read correctly, the ballhead is a gone case already right?

hope this helps...
