I am thinking of getting a macro lens to shoot my figurines...some are really pretty small...so any good advise for any macro lens??

if you're taking figurines macro only, then u can buy a short focal length macro lens (the longer the more expensive). Longer macro lens are generally used for taking insects. Dont waste money on those unless u need to take insects....

Not sure what brand u are using, but if u happen to be using Sony, u can get a Sony 30mm f2.8 1:1 macro lens. Now got promo price, if u purchased your camera recently (or hv friends who did), u can buy the lens for just $249.

Dont think any other camera brand besides Sony have a true 1:1 magnification macro lens that has image stabilizer (due to body IS) and only cost $249.

there is always a standard 105mm lens for each brand like nikon or canon.

for nikon it is 105mm F2.8 VR, the cheapest 'golden ring' lens.

but tamron is also a good choice if you have limited budget.

well i just giving the cheap price lens.. if u got the budget, can just always go ahead for the 105 for $1.2k++...

U failed to mention what's ur budget? And the system u on hw to advise?
If ur on nikon , i 2nd 105mm vr f2.8

for canon you can try
EF 100mm f2.8 macro USM

or if you want IS, its the
EF 100mm f2.8L IS Macro USM

Alternatively on a crop camera, you can use
EF-S 60mm f2.8 Macro USM.

All our suggestion is kind of useless when TS didn't inform us which Camera Brand he/she belongs to..... :nono:

I'm surprised no one recommending her close up filters or macro adapters which will be very cheap.. Since her purpose is still life macro, there's not really a need for a 1:1 macro lens imo, especially not 100mm macro lens which cost more than $1k...

sorry for late reply...my camera brand is canon eos 500d...
