Hi Guys,

Do note that going official is good, but do bear in mind that if we shall go official, costs may be incurred at certain point of time and we may required to chip in some to maintain the infrastructure of the group ya...

Do cast your votes for this... We are still considering this...

You should post this at kopitiam lah ;)

Perhaps you should elaborate what do you mean by official? As the term used is very grey and casting such vote is ambigious.

If you need to charge for membership fee, registration with bodies is required.

yes, as per mentioned, should we really decides to go official as a registered society, there will be audits of accounts and other stuff...

Thanks for the pointers... I was searching, but could not decide where to post it...
since i saw the term "General" here, might as well jus pop it here... It won't be too long afterall...

Hi bro,

I don't think it is the collect time. Maybe update from team to club first. Then see what is the over all out come. You can start see the result by how good the club is perform by how many peoples is attending out activitly like Photography Talks and Photography Outtings and maybe Photography courses.

As a society, we need to do a lot of things. Friend not easy task. Start slowly and end standly.

It was just my own point of view.

Best Regards

What's the purpose of going official in the first place? I'm not a member but I should get organised and join in as I am in the West (Bt Panjang). But why the desire to be a formal society?
Cheers, Ben

I guess it would be more appropriate to post a list of pros and cons on going 'official'.

Not a member of the team but just my humble opinion.

Yes indeed... We are onli considering it... That's why we want to know what the members think... of course there are a lot of considerations that we are lookin at the moment... this plan may be a go or may not... we have yet to speak with some of the officials yet... trying to make some arrangement to meet up some ppl who can make the decision...

well, everything here still stays... but at least we will have an official place that we can operate from and oso maybe arranging future courses and workshops... as for the head counts, we are also tracking from all the outings... of course that includes those who have been registering with us for so mani times, but nv turned up once... i believe every club have their frequent members... and of course ppl that are jus messing around...

whatever it is... we will see how it goes... definitely not without much consideration and support from the members and our sources... ;)
well, you'll definitely be one of our advisers.... :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

Greetings benruane... well, definitely without a good reason, we will not engage into an official organisation / society... as there may be a lot of documentation required and other legal issues... you will get to know more should you be joining us...

cheers...:)

Feel free to poll and log some of the pros & cons, with regards to this issue.

Advantages
- WS existence is officially acknowledged.
- West Shooterz name will be officially registered, thus this prevent other bodies/people else registering it and to warn anyone searching the index of companies to avoid similar names.
- Ability to gain sponsorship.
- Ability to rent out room/auditorium easily, since this body is officially recognised.
- Opinion by DeadEnd: Can offically charge a membership fee on its members
(Fee is use to fund the basic infrastructures of the set-up)
- Opinion by DeadEnd: Committee members can legally earn a remuneration from the society
(committee are on voluntary basis w/o any monetery gain, and THIS WILL BE MADE CLEAR, which will the the biggest task of all shld this be the approach.)

For membership fees, it would be more for the maintenance of the infrastructures...

:light: As for committee members, we would have to make it clear that there would not be any remuneration (as in attendance fees, committee fee, etc...). We do not expect the fund from the membership to be sufficient for additional expenses. All committee shall be based on voluntary participation from pioneering members and regular members. :light:
