He was my batch of OCS...outstanding student who was gonna get a scholarship. i do not know him personally but it was sad because we had just barely passed out when the misfortune strikes.....reading the blog...how disgusted it is to know of the dumb MP that spoke in such manner to a father who lost a outstanding son
i don't know abt you guys..but the reply from the MP and the description of the book he had tried/gave up to put up for SAF...it really makes me burn...
There was a saying during my time in army(sorry ah to all the even more senior fellows/soldiers)..i think it still holds...So many Training Safety Regulations..So many Training Safety Directives....Still so many death.....wtf is wrong?
this is very hard to say..
there are some instances where some of the recruits dont declare their illneses.. i know of some who didnt so they could enjoy privellages like taking advantage by claiming injury during training to get compensation. some did it to get into certain vocations.
and some, dont even know they had the illness. some illnesses are very hard to detect even in this modern age and science...
accidents do happen.. RIP to 2LT Loh and those that have lost their life in the line of duty
Mr loh wrote in his comments that he is from joo chiat. and there is only one MP from joo chiat.
he was the guest of honour at the "degree mill" convocation.

afterwards, he claimed he did not know they were degree mills.
Perhaps it is because that there are so many TSRs that people are lulled to think that accidents do not happen if you follow the TSRs.
Too much compliance leads to you losing your self-awareness.

Maybe that MP makes a hornet mistake? Maybe he has not lost someone who is deer to him before so he is incapable of that compassion and empathy
What the army/navy/air force does are high risk operations, even in peace time. For those that do these stuffs day in day out, it is very easy when things are going smoothly to get complacent, one mistake is all it take for a serious accident. It is the same for those high risk industries also.
