$50 for a prize winning quality photo to possibly be featured in a Christmas campaign. Very cheap but smart marketing.. get good photo at $50 and let the person who submitted the prize winning photo feel he damn privileged to have his photo featured.

hey every bloody organization is doing that now. cheap photography? man, i really feel the photography profession is really dying. the pros really need to do something about it.

Participant must upload a photo of himself/herself, a friend or family member only.
Photo must be a minimum of 1MB in size

Used to it already. Nothing from DBS/POSB surprises me anymore. There are better places to bank your money or post your photos. Cheapo alert!!
BTW the site only have 71 photos of which like 10 are from DBS themselves. So there will be 100 winners drawn. Looking at how it is now, looks like everyone's a "winner"!
Then again, the terms DBS says in the fine print is "we may vary these Terms and Conditions without notice, or withdraw or discontinue the Promotion at any time without any notice or liability to any party."

That's the beauty of it. Announce it in flickr, get people to send in photos, in the end, "winners" ware not eligible to get the money, while DBS gets the photos. brilliant.

If we all are united and not submit anything to them, they have nothing....
But if DBS are cheapo... we have even more cheapos here who will not mind for the $50 even though they could be could be killing the livelihood of PRO.....
Unfortunately, we Singaporean are basically selfish at heart.....
