How soon?
Probably by the end of the month.

What's the price?
Well, it'd be less than 1k SGD that's for sure. But probably only less by 1 dollars or 2. And of course it'd have a kit lens included. That's a pretty good price w/ GST included, but hope we'd have some freebies like in some other countries?

Will we have all the 100 color combination?
Hmm, I wish ... but they are only available for order in JP. As a matter of fact, we probably will only see BLACK and WHITE colors here locally. We won't even see the red or blue one. The actual red color K-x looks pretty ugly anyway, it only looks good on paper, but not so when you see the actual thing. The blue one actually is in dark blue color, looks almost the same as the black one. So we probably won't see these two colors either. Only BLACK and WHITE sets in our local stores.

Which one will you get?
Personally I might get the white one for my wife (the best excuse). I think it looks really cool:

White one has white kit lens? If only they do away with that cheapish silver lining...

Nice. Price seems good for the spec. can consider getting the white one for my gf on her birthday or x'mas since she's looking for a dslr as well

I actually think the silver trim on the body works to make the camera look much better than a cheap blob of plastic like other cameras. Matches the metallic ring of the lenses too. Looks classy imo.

how come from the pictures the white lens dont have marking on the focus ring?

maybe its below cannot see... the focusing position is different... the black lens is slightly protruding out...

but the white dot in front should point at which ever focus length the lens is focusing on right? the corresponding part of the white dot on the white kit lens is blank?:dunno:

haha ok nvm. wait for the kit to release in sg then we will know.

It doesn't matter what colour the lens is, you won't see any lens markings showing the distance scale on any of the Pentax DAL lenses.

Like creampuff say, the white lens on the white K-x is the DA L lens and the one on the black K-x is a DA lens. They can be distinguished by the silver rather than green ring (black DA L lens has a sliver ring also) and doesn't have the distance scale.

Optically the DAL is the same as the DA 18-55 II, but it got a plastic mount, and it doesn't have distance scale on the focusing ring, doesn't have QuickShift feature, and it doesn't come with a lens hood (available at an additional cost). Personally I never really used QuickShift on the kit lens, and I don't mind w/o distance scale. But I don't mind r having a lens hood for such a small lens.

Let's see who gets the K-x the first?

wooo~ i wonder if any place can let pple try this cam~

its like d90 with face detection and selling at half the price :p

Actually the sensor is not exactly the same as the one in D90, but an upgraded version ;) Some tests show that the IQ is even better from K-x

:D now that even entry lvl kx got this kind of quality im looking forward to the upgrade for k7 :D:D:D:D
