hey u i want to know from you guys.. do you guys know how to reset shutter count? is there a such thing?

Are you talking about the physical shutter count? why will you want to do that? The only reason I can think of if someone is trying to sell the camera. Hope this is not your reason. Or, are you the potential buyer of a 2nd hand camera and want to make sure?

46k count is not low if you have an entry level camera which usually has a shutter durability rating of around 100k. For the higher end models, the no. will go up to 150k-300k. But what is the use of resetting the count to zero when in fact it is still at 46k?

buy new camera, or change the shutter, or learn to live with it.

Ok, say somehow u magically resetted the shutter count to 0, your shutter will still have already been actuated 46k times, so it won't make any difference. If you are considering replacing the shutter, might as well get it replaced after the shutter dies, which will take a few months to years depending on your usage. So I say, don't worry about it and just shoot away...

You're better off changing the shutter. May cost a few hundred but you get a new mechanism. No guarantee about the other camera parts though.

what is the diff between 46k shutter and <1k shutter? since u bought 2nd hand, just live with it.. as long as not effecting the images

Annoying? Then why do you consider 2nd hand in the first place? You haven't even told us which camera you are talking about :dunno:
Searching the forum will give you some answers, calling the respective service center can give you the exact answer for the price of replacing a shutter.
