whichever is good for your budget.

Me, i use cheap multicoated Hoya or Tokina most of the time and no filters (unless required) during paid shoots.

hoya is good enough for most people.

some people insist that B+W is required for good glass. frankly speaking, whatever floats your boat.

so long as you don't get weird brands that are of poor quality, it should be fine. hoya is good enough, really.

Hoya is a popular brand, and reasonable price for most people too.

if you want something better, and have more money to spend, can consider B+H, Heliopan, singh-ray, tiffen

CPL Sigma

Here are some tests and reviews and comparison of the more popular filters.

UV filters http://www.lenstip.com/113.1-article-UV_filters_test.html

CPL filters http://www.lenstip.com/115.1-article-Polarizing_filters_test.html

Please note that the new Hoya HD and Kenko Zeta (same product from same company with different branding) filters are not tested in these tests.

I've looked at Kenko Zeta and Hoya HD CPL for myself, but I could not justify the price ($160 and $175 respectively for 67mm filter thread) for my lens that cost only $630. I am still thinking still... who knows, I may buy the Kenko in the end. We'll see. BTW, I am also searching for the Marumi super DHG CPL. Seems like no one in singapore carries it. I have to buy it over ebay (HK) or in china.

Hope this helps.

it isn't an ultrawide, is it? i can't remember if any of them are 67mm filter thread size.

anyways, to be honest, you don't always need the best filters. just a normal hoya cpl will do, it shouldn't be that expensive.

ok thank you guy for advice but what brand is the cheaper and good?
where can i get?

All of this has been answered many times before. Please do try a search. Or do some of your own research and call the shops. And read the provided links, it tells you what brand is good and how much it costs.

Almost all end up with the below mentioned request or similar.

Which loops back to "It's been answered before and helpful links have already been provided, you only need to open your eyes and read instead of asking to be spoonfed".

Err... stumbled onto this thread while searching for filter quality. I guess, chicken and egg problem?

Hoya or Kenko, B +W...

Bascially i will only get

1) B+W MRC , no no to non MRC..
2) Kenko or Hoya Pro 1 D or SHMC UV..

And from my experience lens size above 58mm need a better quality filter else a normal one would do (etc cheap cheap non multi coated tokina , hoya UV filter);)

Rodenstock has a new range of double-sided (looks to me that way) multi-coated high-definition digital filters that's really, really impressive. B&W MRC looks aneroxic in comparison.

Tokina also has a 'PRO ATX' series that not many people have heard of, or may not be readily available. I've used it and it's about equal in terms of flare resistance to the B&W MRC (to me and in my non-scientific tests). The MC looks exactly like Nikon's deep green MC.

Tiffen not common here at all, but more available/common in the US.
