1.in what area is critique to be sought?
Composition, pp & the feel it gives in this pic

2.what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
Wanted to give an oldies, creepy & scary feel since Old changi hospital is well known for hunted.

decent photo with a mysterious feel :) but not realli creepy/scary.
maybe a prop such as a distant object/figure might give it that creepy feeling? if that's what u r trying to achieve. ;)

i like the composition and the lighting, and it does give a kinda creepy feel.. but looking at the last comment, i agree that a distant figure or shadow wouldve enhanced that feel.. but then again, i guess there was nobody around there.. and definitely no ghosts around? :D

It does look creepy to me....hahaha....

Try adding a person in the reflection of the water?

Hi nysheng, tks for your kind comments...
Ya... mysterious is the word to use for this pic... now after you mention, i think this shld be the word to use rather than creepy scary... tks for enlightening me.. ;)

Hi heshanj, tks for your kind comments too... ya i agree that the climax will be great if there is really a distant figure at the reflection or something... but... shld I say i am lucky or "unlucky" not able to capture any shadow or figure in the pic... if not it will be a perfect shot! lolz... :bsmilie:

hi pixelbug, glad that you feel creepy for this pic... ;)

I try not to pp to much on the pic in the extent of adding something additional other than the thing I took in the pic...

hi ionicbeam...

tks for the comments... mind explaining why you doesn't like the tilt? or pointers or composition you think might help improve the pic? tks...
Anyway my intention of the tilt is to create a “yi du kong jian" feeling... sorry i do not know how to interpret that in english...

I also dun quite like the tilt. Not sure why. Maybe I just feel that the tilt do not add anything to the picture. Not sure if the lighted part in the far end were to be a tat dimmer will it give a creepier feel. Not sure if giving the light a slight greenish tint will give it more eerie feel.

Tried doing the above. let me know if you need me to remove it.

Ah I see :) for me the pictures seems quite in reality, the colours are very real, so the tilt somehow doesn't portray that feeling :dunno: hence if a tilt has no purpose, it's very distracting. In my opinion tho, not sure about the others. Richter has a point that colour shifts may portray it better

gr8 pic. YOU GOT GUTS!
the tilt works well. Like the shadows, highligts and reflection as well. If there was happen to be light rays from the left would definitely give it more punch =]

Damn u really got guts. I wudn't really venture tat place at all. But the 2nd picture looks more "feel". Very very nice picture u got there buddy.

tks trueno84 for the kind comments too...

btw i went there with a grp of enthusiastic photographer... so it's not as tense up as going there alone...

I like the way you tilt the picture to give a sense of insecurity to the viewers. The dark to light and long path leads the viewers straight into the picture and the mysterious scribbles on the wall adds to the creepy effect. However i find the wall on the right of the picture could use a little darkening. But Overall good shot. =)
