I'd sell the kit lens and get the tamron. Works wonders in low light, something only your prime can accomplish but with the flexibility of the zoom.

We can't advice you unless you tell us what genres of photography you're into, or how you feel your current lens line-up limits you.

Agreed with Rashkae. I had my canon 50D 2 months ago. Sold my kit lens and bought myself a canon 18-200mm lens. After my photography trek trips to Central Java in 1st Oct. I realised l need to get a Tokina 11-16mm lens. l bought it on last friday. So far, l'm very happy with my 2 lenses. I'm on very high fire now, looking at others photographs masterpieces can be poisonous... keke:sweatsm::sweatsm:

im into street photography......
group photos....
a lil bit of landscape....

well my current line up wouldnt allow me to take really wide-angle shots and sometimes i feel kinda irritated by that...

the reason for fisheye lenses is becoz i think it wud be a really fun lense to experiment with...

and the reason for tamron is to upgrade my kit lens.....
the problem is i dont know which one shud be bought first....???

Fisheye is really for a specific purposes. So I wouldnt recommend it that soon as it would be more like a novelty lens.

strange selection :)

Kit lens and 17-50 don't belong together. You keep only one or the other.
Whether or not the 17-50 becomes your first choice depends on how much you feel limited by the maximum aperture of your kit lens.
If you're taking landscapes/architecture, chances are you won't see any appreciable difference between the 2.
An ultra-wide provides a different field of view. I love 'em because of the kinds of photos I prefer. Not everyone does.
Fisheye.... hmmmmm would be last on my list.

If it were me, I'd go
1) UWA
2) replace kit with 17-50 f/2.8
3) forget about the fisheye. Buy flash instead :)

The tamron will not give you a great advantage over your current lens for your uses.

If youfeel limited by the wide-angle,then you know what you need to invest in.

looking at your sentences, i would buy the lens with the most question marks

I too had this dilemma when I was infected with the BBB virus.

So anyways, to cut the story short, what I did was to rent some of those lenses I was interested in, shoot, see, read reviews then made up my mind on what I exactly needed.

Might work for you. :)

And one more thing, if pocket not deep, don't dig until got lobang.

the best answer would be rent all the lenses... one each week... then shoot whole day with that lens rented ONLY (i.e. put your available lenses at home)... after 3 weeks you should be able to tell which one you like most...

personally... i'll put the fisheye last... the fish eye WOW won't last too long... other lenses you'll get more things to learn because those are not providing fish eye WOW effect...

hope this helps...

For versatility, stick with current lenses and get the Canon 10-22 UWA.

Foe better mid-FL quality, sell the kit and get the Tammy 17-50, and add the 10-22 later on if you feel you need it.

What's wrong with the current setup?

1. Yearn for better IQ and f/2.8, either for superior low light performance or seeking better bokeh? - Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8.
2. Find yourself at the 18mm end, wishing you can go wider? - Canon 10-22mm
3. Want the fisheye look? - Tokina 10-17mm Fisheye.

thanks again for your opinions......

i've read reviews...watch videos..... everithing you can possibly think of...

untill my eyes become XXX already....

haizzzz.......

now i got two choices...
-to get tamron lens with cannon 380ex flash.
-or juz the uwa canon lens..

i think both would probably cost the same.

380ex doesn't swivel and does not have manual control. You might want to take that into consideration and jump for a 430ex II. It's really more worth it IMHO.

If you buy both the items @ the BNS (2nd hand). You might be able to get both close to the the cost of a new UWA.

eh firstly i think fish eye effect doesn't work on crop cameras,
i tried my friend's 16mm fisheye can't really tell the curve effect.
10-22 is definitely a good choice for UWA.
u will soon find out the limitation of your kit lens so u might consider getting 17-50 2.8 first.
so its either u buy 10-22 and have 2 lens to play with or buy 17-50 and buy 10-22 next time. u have to consider which lens u shoot more frequently or not u might find that u're under utilizing your lens and sell it in the future.

When I want to buy lenses, to me it's a "to each its own" mentality.

Different people have different preferences on what they want to shoot.
1 lens may suit another but may not suit you.

My advice is, why not try renting the lenses if possible to try it out 1st? ;)

whatever you think you need first.

it's really, as simple as that.

if you don't think anything, or you don't know, it probably means there is no burning need for any of these lenses, and you just need someone to relieve your pocket. in that case, i can pm you my bank account number and you will get my blessings for a transfer
