Scanner, my! Your experience comes through in this execution. The bigger Buddha in focus at the foreground and the smaller OOF Buddha at the background forms a unique indirect perspective (if I could describe it as such.. in my own words). My attention is certainly drawn to the front Buddha. And only upon re-examination that my eyes pick up the smaller one behind. A composition which, in my opinion, comes only after putting thoughts into.
In addition, the loss of the right arm, but the presence of the right hand on the thigh certainly portrays a surprising element as one would expect there to be a continuation from the right shoulder to the hand, but the missing arm creates a feeling of shock...

Oops accidentally, did some changes in the flickr, caused the link to change.

Anyway, Lim How, yes, I've purposely captured the 3 Buddha statues in this manner that will create some "emotional feeling" to the audience...

I will let the rest comment first before adding on. ;)
Thanks for your kind comment.

This picture tells the whole story. My version of this picture couldn't make it. Thus it was stored permanently deep in the abyss of my hard disk...
The decapitated Buddha staring into nothingness with lights gently streaming in from the square opening, sufficient only to illuminate the bare chest... I tried, and only just managed to touch the shoulder of the Buddha. Lucky me.
Haha... my Javanese maids maintained that when one is at Borobudur, one must strive to touch the Buddhas inside the stupa. Only those who are devout enough would be able to.
...
Just some idle talk lah.
But :thumbsup: to the master Scanner here!

Doc Lim, you really are a night owl.

Lim how and Captain Juker, thanks for your kind comments.
A picture can tell a story and it is up to the photographer to reach out to the audience on what he wanted the audience to see...
Well I hope my objective has been achieved.

I will post some of the remaining 1st round of processed pics tonight.

Captain Juker, Limwhow is a die hard fans of CS. Applaud to him.

Haha I can see that, he got post in many other threads as well, must put him as the panel of judge for photography competition liao. LOL. ;) BTW enjoying your wide? ha.

Really must learn from you to photograph the local people. Especially children.
For myself and Serene, we are so often caught up in the more obvious aspects of landscape (for example) that the more flavourful local sights and sounds slipped our minds.
It was really good to see all your pictures and to learn from them. Thank you, Scanner!

beautiful pictures
