Windows 7

The RTM version is already out since July and I believe quite a bunch of people are using it now (especially IT people). Windows 7 is the best Windows OS ever!

Media Hype...... :thumbsd:

Luckily I did what I always did.... wait for other people to 'Sacrifice' themselves to test the product.... not the Beta Version one... but the full market release product. The very reason why I'm still using a 4 year old IBM Notebook is because I die die don't want to own any new Notebook/Lap Top that uses VISTA.

Already WINDOW 7 needs to be patch even before it hits the market - http://news.cnet.com/8301-27080_3-10374134-245.html?tag=TOCmoreStories.0

While I have little doubt that Win7 would be better than Vista, since Vista is as bad as it could be.... I'll wait. WinXP is still serving me well. :bsmilie:

Win7 already released to some channels already, juz that the mass isn't getting it yet till the launch party. Not surprising with patch, in fact it is good to see microsoft taking active measure to ensure bugs fix. Apple also sama sama la, not anywhere better.

Juz when i was reading morning news i stumbled upon this & this thread, so nothing to worry as long as the companies r actively involved in bugs squashing. Only time i worry is when they do the ping pong blame game "its the vendors' drivers fault... No its the OS company fault..." & nothing gets done.

...Now a perhaps even more critical flaw has been found in Snow Leopard. Reportedly, Snow Leopard users have been making the unpleasant discovery that logging into a guest account and then logging out can delete user information on all accounts.
.
.
.
.
....That fix may come in the form of OS X 10.6.2, Apple's latest service pack that's currently in beta and available to developers. The service pack comes with nearly 150 "general focus areas" -- various fixes and tweaks.

I'm personally looking forward to it, also 64bit ver. BTW any MO & discount?

I hate Bill Gates.

LOL, Bill Gates now goes behind of Microsoft lao. You might like to change your new target to Steve Ballmer (C.E.O of MS) .. haha

Got MO meh?
I am thinking of taking leave on that day to buy the OS and go back and install. :bsmilie:

Dun know lor, that's why asking. Maybe can bunk in with those getting multi license? :bsmilie: So cheaper le.

Everytime a new windows OS comes out, everything from shortcuts to networking changes. It causes users like me to re-learn the nonsense and during the stretch of learning slows down the entire computing experience- work and leisure. Then by the time I get real familiar with it, MS announces a new version of Windows.

I remember when I was younger, I joined some anti-Bill Gates folks online to spam Billy's email- only to realise years later he's got 100 over secretaries filtering his emails manually sitting on the 14th floor of Microsoft and could work through 50,000 emails per day. :(

My understanding there are not much of changes on the shortcuts and learning on the Window 7. The OS structures inbetween XP and Vista.

Think it was 5 or so people filtering and the building he was/is in, only has a few floors.

How you set up networks is generally the same, so you shouldn't have to worry about it looking too alien.

I "sacrifice" myself :). Using the RTM build for a while now and a couple friends using too(32bit and 64bit). Its VERY VERY VERY VERY stable and fast! One small issue i have though. My motherboard firewire driver does not work properly(Gigabyte GA-DS3R). Otherwise, its great!

hmmm... i've been using the Windows 7 Enterprise evaluation copy and i find it much better than Vista. i'm also thinking of getting a notebook.

currently, the MacBook Pros are cheap (refurbished ones of course)... can Windows 7 run on the MacBook Pro? is it advisable to completely remove OS X and run purely on Windows 7?
