Hello all! I just returned from Langkawi, Kedah. The weather was not the best, but it was still a blast! Here's to share my experience, perhaps you would be inspired to go there. My photos are subpar so hopefully I can compensate on my descriptions.

Day 1 – 8th October

SG- LGK What a turbulentic (hoho. new word) flight. My sister was chanting prayers aloud while grabbing my hands. Upon landing, the passengers gave a massive round of applause to the pilots for the safe journey.

I was very surprised by how lax Airasia was on taking photos of plane after/before alighting/boarding. I was warned then with Tiger Airways. We posed in front of the stunning Airasia Airbus 320. Langkawi International Airport is pretty simple.

Rained poured for quite a bit while we ate the scrumptious Nasi Campur (well anything is scrumptious when I’m hungry so). Continued towards Mutiara Burau Bay Resort; greeted by a charming ambience that I quickly fell in love with. I love the design of the lobby. I love the location of the resort- well that’s about it. Everything else fell short. The service was disastrous. My aunt was a Mutiara Premium member so we expected a decent service but was met with subpar treatment from the staff. I shall not dwell on the details, but yea, I don’t quite enjoy the misinformation they gave us.

We called a taxi to ferry us to Kuah town. An aged Langkawian, donned with a songkok haji , Mr Zaki gave such a warm reception so we booked him throughout our whole trip. Very sincere and accommodating. I loathed shopping but my aunt and sister had to do their routine indulgence so we head over to Idaman Suri followed by Hj. Ismail Group. Bought some chocolates and cookingware. Tok advantage of the tax-free goods.

We headed to Dataran Lang (Eagle Square), which hold a gigantic eagle structure. The magnificent twilight spanned the harbourview. It dawned on me that Langkawi is relatively quiet and dark at night. The lack of people roaming that part of the town is odd.

Nice shots! Love the landscape of the dawn shot.

wow thanks for the response guys. Langkawi is such a gem. I'll post the continuation now :)

Oh no, I shall skip the night of day 1 since its quite uneventful.

Day 2- 9th October

We wanted to go for a island hop but the weather was unforgiving uptill nearly 9am.
Then, we learnt that the Langkawi Cable Car is still on maintenance so we had to scrap that idea despite the sky being perfect by noon.

We visited the Laman Padi (Rice Museum) which was empty and unlively plus the sun was scorching hot. We were left unguided and left after a few shots.

Mr Zaki dropped us at Awana Porto Malai Resort to admire the beauty of this little gem. Seriously, the hotel is so exquisitely designed, reminding me of some Venetian décor. The sea view by the boardwalk is even majestic with such cool blue and neatly aligned yatches.

I went against the idea of going to the Underwater World so the ladies lured us into The Zon for shopping- Part Deaux. Then, off to more street shopping at the stretch of bazaars along the road of Pantai Cenang. Normal souvenirs and beachwear – baring shops. Pantai Cenang hasgotta be a photography haven so me and my cousin volunteered to head for the beach and Holy Salmon was it a haven. The low tide , pristine beach just dazzled me whilst the joyous atmosphere at the core of the beach is so Bali-like to me. The parasailing, the banana boat, I am so staying here on my next visit.

Soon, it was dusk while we made our way to Tanjung Rhu. What a breathtaking view. I nearly peed in my pants witnessing the dramatic colours painted across the sky with the islets aligned at the foreground. There’s no definite sunyolk but still astonishing.

nice pictures. I hope to see more of the series.
