S8R Prints - Add white border?

Hi all.

I currently have a photo that fits perfectly on an S8R print. However, I want to add a white border around the image before sending it for printing.

How do I do so? I've tried using Canvas Size, but the border that comes out will longer fit S8R properly. After cropping to 8in by 12in, the border will be uneven. I need an even border around the image...

Additional question here... Didn't want to start a new thread.

I have a photo cropped to 16:9 ratio and I want to send it to a photo lab. What should I do/tell them? I don't really understand the 16:9 discussions I found here on CS.

So far I've thought only thought of these:

- Use PS and place the 16:9 photo on an S8R canvas. Print, and then cut away the borders (will the shop cut for you?)

- Tell them it's a panorama (is a 16:9 ratio even considered a panoramic ratio?)

FIT IN to a S8R print and trim it yourself, you should paid only for a S8R print, if you ask them to cut in for you, may charge you a fee for cutting the print.

odd size print may cost two or three times more.

cut yourself. it is not that hard.. just make sure you tell the lab printing it to make sure your entire image is in.

some of them might just happily crop out the sides for you,
