Anyone knows where i can get a good range of tamiya model kit paint? what is the current normal price per bottle.

Also, interested in getting an Air brush as well, no need very advanced expensive one, just a basic one will do fine. Any recommendations on what model/price/place to get one will be great!

Air Brush
-> you can go for Badger air brush, price ranging from $100-$300. can get it at Art friends in bras besah complex

Compressor
-> you can get from arts friend too but the cost confirm will be expenive. I have one but still lying aside, if you need i can sell it to you.

tks for the reply! compressor ah... do ppl also buy cans of compressed air as a cheaper alternative for airbrushes? any idea how much per can?

Reason being i am buying just to paint some stuff on and off, and will not be doing this too much to be willing to spend alot on a airbrush + paint ha....

how much is the cost?

If you have the budget, go for the Tamiya double action airbrush, I forgot the model number. If you have the paint numbers you need, give me the list and I see if I have them. Can give some to you. Just buy me tea/coffee can liao.

yes, there are compress air can on sales, if i not wrong the cost might be 20 per can. this price which i got it around 10 yrs back, most probably be around there. if your work area is big, air can will be very very costly.

i am not using my compressor and trying to clear some stocks too, if you need it i can sell you at $150.

if you just want to buy conveniently then seiyu @ bugis junction also have paint - got to toy section should be near gundam
also all retail model shops should have cos tamiya is water based - easy to import

hmm...if u not in a hurry to get them right...actually can get it online... www.coastairbrush.com think its much cheaper than art friend... i personally bought 2 from them last year.. badger 155 and 360. i think the quality is . as compared to my old SPARMAX airbrush..

compressor is the exp one..but if u are into doing model kits..its much worth it than buying gas cans..bought mine from hobby point (think now is at suntec again shuld be at 3 storey somewhere opp the arcade above carrefour)..$200+..but long time never visit there liao..

there also got sell tamiya model paint..ehh...i thought tamiya also got enamel?..

oh yes, they also do. anyway not sure what he want to use it for.
if it is for tamiya car then go ahead use water
if it is for models - I prefer mr.hobby

Tamiya has lacquer paints as well. The spray can ones...
In my opinion, lacquer paints do look better if you are building cars....

Vallejo Paints
These are acrylic paints that are water soluble. Very easy to work with and top grade for miniature modeling.is prevents the paints from dry out in the bottle as well.
Comes in a good dropper bottle as well, and not those 'dated' screw bottles that become a pain to unscrew due to dry paint. Th

You can get them from PI (located at MidPoint Orchard lvl3).

hi!

these water soluble acrylic paints, does it mean that if the painted surface comes into contact with water, the paint will dissolve/fade?

5th Floor, Tiong Bahru Plaza. Got a shop selling model kit. Only 2 lifts from lobby goes up. Chk the directory at ground floor, I forgetten the name liao. :)

i have a double action airbrush and compressor lying idle since i dropped the hobby last year. if you're interested, i'll find out the model number and then find out the current market price, so we can agree to a price for this second hand set.

double action airbrushes are better because they allow you to control both the amount of air and paint at any one time. :)

do let me know!
