Hey all CS-ers who frequent Japan alot or are about to go,

why not share some info on Tokyo Disneyland?

It's a great place and i never fail to visit ther even though it' probably been my tenth time on my last visit.

I love the place and like to share good eating spots and certain shops are great to get nice souvenirs.

The official hotel is great but very expensive, and i would recommend the other partner hotels if on a budget, but if you're a real disney fan (like me), staying in the official hotel would be like a pilgrimage, but just one night will do (and that's prolly the max you would wanna spend).

Anyone needs any info, please post them here and i will answer them!

i love the crabmeat pizza from galactic pizza port in tommorowland, just next to space mountain.

the makan down at the queen of heart dining hall is also scrumptious,

it's located next to attraction "it's a small world" and opposite the ferris wheel (can't rmb exact attraction name)

the queue is very long as they are the only few restaurant to offer proper dinner (what we consider proper, rice and whatsnot, not burgers)

love the waffles at great american waffles company at main street bazaar, esp the blueberry mickey-head shaped waffles.

for dinner (jap-styled) if you're near main street bazaar, try hokusai.

tips for families travelling together, mums and dad can go earlier to make a reservation,

as they are a P/S (priority seating restaurant), as compared to other restaurants in the park.

any disneyland fans??

btw, just a tip, for those family visiting disneyland and sea consecutively after 2 days during winter,

disneyland may not seem so cold, but when you go to disneysea, it becomes much colder (due to all the water around)

bring more lip balm for the latter, winds are much fiercer.

Hi Lomo(?)... my family will be going end-autumn... presume it will not be that cold...

was wondering about the Fast Passes... do you have a link to a website to show the rides and timetables for them? want to maximise the time we have there... thanks

for meals, I suggest not eating in the park but take the monorail out to the station and eat there. less crowded, only like 7 minutes by monorail. buy the 1day monorail pass.

fast pass is limited use. I think I took a fast pass at around 1030am. The time they ask me to come back at 2pm and you can only take another fast pass at 130pm. So I think u can only like take the most 3 fast passed.

Normally a lurker, but I just had to post if its about Tokyo Disney Resort ^o^;

The following strategy will see you through the crowd most of the time, but bear in mind it's not recommended if you want to leave a good impression as a tourist lol:

1. Memorize where all the fast pass rides are.

2. Get there way before the opening hour (maybe 30 min to 1 hr before?). Its unbelievable the crowd that gathers there to wait for the gates to open... Best is if you can be in the first few rows in the queue.

3. Split your group into two (A and B).

4. Once you're through the gate, Group A SPRINTS for the first fast pass ride - usually the most popular one - and grab the fast pass first. Yes, you will see other guests using the same strategy and sprinting as well. Notice you can only get the next fast pass 1.5 hrs after you get the first one.

5. Group B SPRINTS for the next fast pass ride and queue in the Standby queue (the normal one). Group A joins the queue after they get the fast pass.

6. After you take the ride in Step 5, rinse and repeat steps 4 and 5.

Only ever tried this strategy once, and we rode all the rides in one day even though there was a huge crowd. However, its very tiring so that was the only time I participated.

(Edit) Was there June this year. The Monster Inc ride was incredibly popular - it just opened in April this year. There was this huge queue outside the ride that I mistook for the Standby queue, when its actually the Fast Pass queue!!! The result was that the Fast Pass for the ride was "sold" out within 30min of the park opening time!

hmm, fast passes are designated on a first come first serve basis,

every 1 hour has a designated hour of passes, which is slated for a later time.

say if you collect at 10, your pass is good for cutting queue (or the fastpass lane) at maybe 3 o clock.

latest collection of FP is usually at 4 when the park is crowded, and your ticket is usually only good for using the FP lane at about 9.30-1000 when the park is about to close.

Have been there once. Nothing really much to shoot and I found Universal Studios in Osaka slightly more fun. Do go slightly later as the architecture there is lighted up beautifully at night.

the food may be expensive, but it's delicious!

worth every cent spent. should eat there if you're not going back anytime soon,

as an experience. of course, if you're on a budget then you can follow alan's alternative.

Been to both but prefer DisneySea much better as its more picturesque!

anyone know if i buy the 2 days pass, do i have to go disneyland and disneysea on consecutive days? is it possible i go Disneyland on Thursday and DisneySea on Monday coz i want to give the weekend a miss.

yup, the passes are consecutive.

in this case its better to buy the passes on the specific day

ahhh.. ic. ok.

Will it be very crowded on a friday?

Will it be very crowded on a friday?

esp after 6pm

there is a concession ticket

crowds include working population

prices of ticket is 65 percent off full day park pass

they drop in only for a few rides and dinner till park closure at 1030

Read from RedSun's thread that Tripod isn't allowed in Disney Sea. Is it the same for Disneyland? How about Monopods or even Gorillapods?

It can be quite tough to capture night shots without a tripod. :(

:Later,

Last Dec I went there by overnite flight. In the am the coach brought me and the family to one of the Disney hotels which is not far away. But there is a regular shuttle service to the Disneyland. As a hotel guest in Disneyland hotels, I could get to line up at the priority line and mind u the lines at the entrance can be eye boggling. Loads of ppl

The place is filled with happy people so taking pic can be challenging. Let me try to post some pic here for everyone to enjoy.

I was in Disneyland on Monday thinking it be less crowded. On the contrary it was very packed. I waited like 1 hour 15 min for the chu chu train ride. Funny thing on a Wed when I was back in Disneyland the crowd was halfed. Btw I wnt to Disney Sea on a Tue and it was cold and wet; very miserable on a winter day.
