how to register the product

Hi all,

can you tell me how you register your product for warranty? I try to register my product online. However, the emjay website always said the serial number is invalid or already used.

My friend suffers from the problem as me. He went to cathay photo and asked the seller to help him. However, yesterday he received a letter from cathay photo that said my friend has to register online by himself. And then, after registration, the website told my friend to pay for 68 dollars for the warranty. Is it right?

Use IE. Some other browsers may not display correctly. What happened is your friend accidently selected warranty extension. The default is 1.5 years. If you ignore the invoice to pay up, they will assume its back to the default 1.5 years.

Hi all, I bought K7 body only on 28th august 2009 at Song Bros SLS.
Tried to register online as instructed, but same thing happened as you "invalid ser. no. bla..bla". Sent them email on the day, as of today got no reply concerning the product registration. The reply I got was 'thank you for registering emjay account' but no mentioned of warranty.
I dunno if my K7 is under emjay warranty because of this. HTH.

I encountered the same problem. Called Emjay and it was settled within minutes.

got a k7 from MSC last friday, warranty registration was ok. hope your issues get resolved soon..

Call emjay by phone. It's much quicker.

I feel that their product registration website is a joke really. There has been so many people facing the same issue with product registration and I don't see why emjay should not just resolve the backend software once and for all.

The K-7 and Pentax's Limited lenses are great pieces of equipment and has attracted many new users/switchers (I was a nikon user before). But the registration bug on emjay's website just doesn't reflect well on them, especially since they have just taken over the distributorship.

I know emjay reads this forum occasionally, so please take this as a friendly feedback.

Ya. I also hopped from nikon/canon to pentax just gt my 1st limited lens with the k20d.
